Taking the top spot as the state’s top athlete, Clement just finished up a fantastic senior esason for Martinsburg. Behind Clement (and others), the Bulldogs went 13-0 this season and took home the AAA state championship with a 57-13 win over Princeton in the state championship game. Clement did a little bit of everything for Martinsburg but plays mostly defensive back and quarterback. He projects to a defensive back at the next level. Clement has good size with his 5-foot-11 frame and has plenty of room to grow into as well. Very good athlete who is explosive, agile, and elusive. Shows quality coverage skills but can also play well downhill against run.
The Fairmont Senior athlete has great size at 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds but also posseses strong mesaurables including a 4.5 fort-yard dash, a 4.3 shuttle, a 39.5″ plus more. Played mostly running back for Fairmont but has the size, speed, and athleticism to lineup at wide receiver, defensive back, or safetfy at the next level. Also ccould grow into a linebacker at the next level. Ours is a highly projectible talent who is consistently the best player on the field almost any given week. Has a chance to be a dynamic weapon at the next level.
Originally from North Carolina, Massey came onto our radar this some when he transferred into Winfield and was an immediate game changer. A highly athletic player, Massey was a dynamic dual-threat quarterback for Winfield this season. Massey has the size to be a quarterback, defensive back, or linebacker at the next level. Good athlete who can be slippery with the ball and has a knack for escaping tackles.
Super versatile athlete with explosiveness that is headliend by a 9’6′ broad jump and a 4.53 forty-yard dash. Shows the skillsets necessary to be success as a wide reciever or defenisve back at the next level. Smooth, fluid hips, good awareness and football IQ.
Highlights
Nice sized wide receiver who can also play running back. Also has good speed with a 4.59 forty-yard dash time. But has much more than speed as he usses his size to his adavntage and is very phsyical player. Shows strong hands and has great body awareness and control as well.
Highlights
The West Virginia baseball commitment could’ve went and played college football but instead chose to focus on the diamond. That being said, on the gridon Molessa was a fun player to watch, showing superb talents on both sides of the ball. He finsihed his career with back-to-back state titles.
Miller is a nice sized prospect who has the vesatility to play at the next level on eitehr side of the ball. Shows a good foundational skillset as a defensiev back and isn’t afraid to be phyiscal. Smooth hips and shows the ability to change direction without losing much, if any of a step. Does a good job at diagnosing and reacting to plays.
Plays in a triple-option offense so we’ve seen a lot of what VanMatre provides as a runner. He usess 6-foot-3 frame well which creates a physical, intidmidaitng ball carrier. Has a nice burst to his game, not overly fast but has enough speed to make a difference. Could very well be a triple-option quarterback at the college level but also has the size and strenght to play on the defensive side of the ball as a lienbacker or grow into a defensive end.
Nice sized linebacker and running back prospect for Bluefield with decent speed, recording a 4.66 forty-yard dash. Physical ball carrier who can bounce off would-be tacklers thanks to his size and physicality. As a defender, shows good play recongignition skills and can make plays even when perhaps not given the best matchup from an athelete standpoint. Sound tackler and fundamentally strong, big thumper as well when it comes to tackeling.
Tall and lengthy athelte who has played mostly quarterback for River View, could stick at that position at the next level but the 6-foot-4 frame makes Danielson a highly intriguing prospect. Reports a 4.78 forty-yard dash. If he doesn’t stay at quarterback, a move to defensive end at the next level could be in the works. Also played a bit of middle linebacker and safety for River View.
