Plays in a triple-option offense so we’ve seen a lot of what VanMatre provides as a runner. He usess 6-foot-3 frame well which creates a physical, intidmidaitng ball carrier. Has a nice burst to his game, not overly fast but has enough speed to make a difference. Could very well be a triple-option quarterback at the college level but also has the size and strenght to play on the defensive side of the ball as a lienbacker or grow into a defensive end.

Since I started here at Prep Redzone West Virginia, Vanmatre has become one of my favorite players in the state to watch on tape. I’m excited to see what he can bring to the table this fall.
