From testing times, to individual drills, to 1-on-1’s, each and every quarterback displayed arm strength, accuracy, and poise. The following 5 quarterbacks stood out the most as they dominated nearly every rep that that took.
Bonnetti impressed throughout the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. Earning Quarterback MVP Honors, the junior from Richmond played with confidence throughout the camp. He measured in at 6’1, 185 lbs and tested considerably well. Posting a 4.82 40 yards dash and 7.19 L-drill showed Bonnetti is more than just a passer. During the 1 on 1’s portion of the camp, Bonnetti continually impressed with his accuracy and arm talent. Whether it was a short, intermediate, or deep throw, he put the ball on the money. The standout baseball player also proved he also has a future playing football on Saturday’s if he choses to do so.
Coffman is an impressive sophomore from (Grand Rapids) South Christian. He carried himself like an upperclassmen at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase on Sunday, completing multiple passes that appeared to be next level throws. He measured in at 6’1, 174 lbs and possesses incredible arm strength. Several times, Coffman hit wide receivers on throws of 40 plus yards. He plays with great anticipation and has the touch to throw receivers open when facing tight coverage. This rising star from Michigan is beginning to put himself on the map by both his play in the fall and his play at the showcase.
Highlights
The senior quarterback was one of the top performers at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. McCarthy, a 5’11, 212 lbs signal caller from Petoskey, is a dual-threat playmaker. During individual drills, he showed off his polished footwork in the pocket and ability to get the ball out quick and on-time. One of the more impressive deep ball passers during the 1 on 1 period, McCarthy was dropping the ball in the bucket on vertical routes. This senior remains uncommitted but has an opportunity to be a strong quarterback option once he lands with a college program.
Highlights
Watters is known throughout the area as one of the top rushing quarterbacks in the state of Michigan. At Sunday’s PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase, it was Watters getting it done through the air. The 6’2, 208 lbs sophomore from Rochester Adams threw the ball with tremendous accuracy and velocity on level 2 throws. He also had some impressive deep balls that allowed faster receivers to run underneath the ball. As Watters continues to perfect his craft, this rising sophomore is a name to keep an eye on.
Farkas posted some of the top testing numbers from the quarterback group at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. He also has the size and athleticism to be an elite quarterback as he develops. Farkas measured in at 6’1, 194 lbs and ran a 4.71 40 yard dash, 4.68 short shuttle, and 7.44 L-Drill. He also exploded for 9’2 broad jump. These numbers translated to individual drills, as Farkas impressed when throwing on the run and working footwork drills. He also displayed solid accuracy and plus arm strength throughout 1-on-1’s. The sophomore quarterback out of St. Clair is sure to turn heads over the next two seasons of his high school career.
Highlights
Smeenge was the top young quarterback at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. The freshman out of East Kentwood showed the moment wasn’t too big for him. He competed well with the older guys in the group, going above and beyond during individual drills and 1-on-1’s. Smeenge completed several nice passes during his reps, including a few deep balls that showed off his accuracy. As Smeenge continues to grow and developing, this freshman is someone to keep an eye on over the next 3 seasons.
