Yesterday, over 200 athletes from Minnesota and Wisconsin descended on the Brooklyn Park Sports Dome to compete in what is inarguably the premier high school football showcase in Minnesota. With athletes representing all parts of Minnesota and every classification of football the state has to offer, our scouts, other media members, and college coaches from three different levels of college football (not to mention the P5, FBS, and FCS programs receiving testing results while adhering to the dead period that included the 17th), we were treated to hours of high-quality athletic testing (40, short-shuttle, broad jump, L-drill), position-specific coaching and individual time from college staff, and competition against the best the state has to offer, not to mention the recruiting bonuses. After what was a fun, thrilling, eventful, and tiring day of action, I'm pumped to present my notebook of top performers, sleepers, stock-risers, and dark horses from Session 1's RBs and LBs of the PrepRedzoneMN Showcase.

Overview: There was an overall good showing from the RB group at the PRzMN Showcase. Diverse range of graduating classes and geographic regions, impressive testing numbers, and some noticeable and obvious athletes that looked athletic, quick, and competitive during both testing and competition that really gave the opposing LBs trouble during 1-on-1s at the end of the session. Let's check out some of the top performers!

A veteran of the PRzMN Showcase and now a multi-time standout selection, Kingsland's do-it-all dynamo [player_tooltip player_id='402074' first='Kaaleem' last='Reiland'] was a coaches favorite and obvious eye-catching who was extremely comfortable with the ball in-hand and when working in space against opponents. Did have a habit of throwing one-to-many moves out there during angle drills against LBs, but he was very effective when he stuck his cleat in the turf and naturally elusive as well. Also, I was stoked to see him improve on his 40 time from last year's freshman campaign, as he posted a 40 in the 4.8s and added two 4.7 short-shuttles and an 8'8" broad jump.

Another unanimous top performer from coaches working the event and in attendance to scout, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that a Lakeville South RB made the list. The Cougars pump out RB products like it's their bread & butter and they have an athletic one in the building for another season in Shine, who posted an notable back-to-back 4.72 40s, a 4.47 short-shuttle, and 9'3" and 9'5" broad jumps to really showcase his athleticism. Shine was also effective and showed off good timing and shake when making defenders miss, was an asset as a pass catcher, and I also heard he was one of the most coachable kids in attendance and was really focused on getting better, getting coached up, and making the most of his time in Brooklyn Park. Shine really boosted his stock with her performance on Sunday and is a sleeper in a talent-rich '25 RB class.

Undoubtedly one of the top uncommitted seniors at the event, Moore was a game-changing athlete that really put in some work on Sunday. Twitchy and explosive out of his cuts, showed off good body control and natural quickness, and put in work during 1-on-1s. Solid route-runner who could create separation at the top of the route, good hands, and really challenging for opponents to corral or even get hands on. Complete package and a prospect who can really help out a college program in the explosiveness department. Moore posted a 4.65 and 4.63 40, 4.56 short-shuttle, and 9' broad jump.

One of the most physically impressive and put together RBs in attendance, Elk River's Schmidt was a baller in a camp setting just like he is padded up. The hard-nosed RB posted a 4.72 40, 4.44 short-shuttle, and 8'11" broad jump. Was a beast during RB vs. LB pass-pro, was strong at the catch and contact point, and had some good hands as well.

The 9man state champ showed off his explosiveness, mismatch ability, and dynamic skillset during all portions of the PRzMN Showcase and was particularly effective during 1-on-1s vs. LBs, where he won more than fair share of reps and won them convincingly as well. Quick and sudden when cutting and showing off some solid route-running skills, Ogundeji all blew the doors off the testing portion of the day and posted a 4.62 and 4.60 40, 4.46 short-shuttle, and 9'1" and 9'0" broad jumps to really display some high-quality athleticism from Outstate, small-school, 9Man Minnesota.

What a showing from the sophomore! I didn't have Byron High School's Heimer on my radar going into the day, but the PRzMN Showcase breakout star certainly is on it now. Another addition to a growing line of impressive Byron football prospects as of late, Heimer posted two blazing 40 times of 4.59, a 4.46 and 4.53 short-shuttle, 7.02 L-drill, and a 9'7" and 9'6" broad jump for one of the best testing showings of the day, especially amongst sophomores. Real-deal athlete who knew how to use it as well, showing some exciting flashes during 1-on-1s. What a day from Mr. Heimer!

Overview: A thinner group (numbers-wise) compared to the rest of the position groups at Sunday's PrepRedzoneMN Showcase, the LBs came out strong in the 2025 class and presented some exciting sophomores. Led by the two undisputed big dogs of Maple Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='363115' first='Jacob' last='Wrbanek'] (6'3.5, 214 lbs.) and [player_tooltip player_id='1120518' first='Bo' last='Draheim'] (6'1.5", 211 lbs.), who were both impressive laterally and capable of covering a ton of ground in run and pass defense, the LBs received a ton of reps during 1-on-1s against a deep & talented RB group who have an advantage in these passing scenarios in a camp setting and put their opposing LBs in situations they don't often find themselves in schematically. However, they rose to the occasion. Let's get to know the standouts!

Size is definitely a checked box for the Crimson junior, who is also very impressive laterally, both in a testing phase (4.34 & 4.41 short-shuttle and 7.13 and 7.08 L-drill) and during competition. He can change direction and close well, which helped in coverage and during 1-on-1 angle drills during positional time. Also has good length and knows how to use it, both when rushing the QB against a RB in pass-pro and to break up passes. Also posted a 9'2" broad jump. Had a good season as a junior in his first year of varsity action, is extremely motived and goal-oriented as a football prospect, was named a captain going into the offseason for MG, and has the size to really catch the attention of D1 programs.
