Today we have another 10 prospects to review spanning two states and three classes. The seniors are unsigned and have serious collegiate upside, and the returning prospects WILL make a splash next season. ILB: Ben Stigler Ben Stigler 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Hudson | 2024 State WI 6’1″ 225 lbs Hudson Wisconsin 2024
Stigler is a powerful ILB who I wish was an MN prospect. He opens his tape with an interior blitz that results in a crucial TFL. While he goes through the line untouched, his speed and agility when sprinting through the gap were eye-opening. In his second play, he expertly reads the guard pull, sprints to the alley, and delivers a bone-crushing hit. Next, we see Stigler lined up in the “A” gap primed to blitz. He instantly creates pressure by driving through the guard and wrapping up a huge 4th down TFL. This aggression and physicality is a common theme throughout his tape. Stigler is a bruiser who can plug up running lanes. His tackles stop runners in their tracks, and he looks like he’d be a great addition to several NSIC programs, or a potential day 1 starter for MIAC/WIAC schools.
QB: Cooper Adair 6’2″ 170 lbs Hudson Wisconsin 2026
In his 7-game sophomore tape, Adair showed flashes of brilliance. Adair opens his tape with a 32-yard dot to his receiver on a filthy fade route. In his second play, Adair shows off his mobility on what looks to be an RPO. He pulls the handoff at the last second and breaks off for a 35-yard rushing touchdown. While I haven’t seen any of Adair’s tape before, I was more than impressed with his speed and vision when the rock was in his hands. Next, we see Adair hit a narrow window on a 16-yard out. He places the ball where only the receiver can go up and make a play. Continuously on his tape, you can see him making defenders miss with his legs. It’s not a stretch to call Adair a true “dual-threat” QB. He can make kids miss when he gets in an open space outside of the pocket. Considering he’s only a sophomore, his ceiling could be nuts if he continues to hit the weight room.
WR: Brock Wyandt Brock Wyandt 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Farmington | 2025 State MN 6′ 170 lbs Farmington 2025
A first-team all-district WR, Wyandt was a breakout stud last season with over 1,100 total yards on offense. His tape opens up with him in the slot, first and ten backed up to his 1-yard line. He catches a quick screen before breaking out a 99-yard house call. On this run, he broke several tackles and managed to outpace high-level athletes with his speed and explosive ability. Next, we see Wyandt in the slot again, this time on his opponent’s 48. He runs a deep post and gets open quickly. When the QB is forced to scramble, Wyandt adjusts well to the ball and takes down another house call. His ability to extend plays after the catch is easily the largest common denominator throughout his film. Time and time again Wyandt will take a short pass or a screen and break off a 50+ yard gain. If you give him an inch in open space, he’s going to take a mile.
S: Brett Salmonson Brett Salmonson 5'10" | 190 lbs | DB Park of Cottage Grove | 2024 State MN 5’10” 190 lbs Park 2024
A 2x all-district 1st-team member, Salmonson was also the state leader in tackles and carries for a solid duration of the season. The two-way threat has snagged several offers but remains uncommitted. With 126 tackles across 9 games, it’s pretty hard not to expect a lot out of his tape, but it delivers. His tape opens with him reading a quick bubble screen. He follows this read by screaming down and lighting up the receiver. Later on, we see Salmonson read a mid-level curl well before coming down hard and making a heads-up play by swatting the ball out of a bigger TE’s hands. He’s not just dominant when stopping short routes, however, you can see just a few plays later when Salmonson drops back when threatened by a deep fade. He tracks the ball well and high-points it, which leads to a big-time interception. He’s not just a pass defender though, his ability to crash down hard on short-run plays effectively makes him another linebacker in the box.
DT: Will Roth Will Roth 6'0" | 235 lbs | DL Rochester Lourdes | 2024 State MN 6′ 240 lbs Rochester Lourdes 2024
A defensive tackle who recorded over 20 TFLs his senior year, Roth is a 3-sport athlete whose tape I had yet to see before this article. His tape begins with him lined up over the head of the right guard. The guard pass-sets and Roth explodes off the ball. He pumps left before swimming right. He loses the guard instantly and grants himself a free release to the quarterback where he picks up a 10+ yard sack. Next, we see him lined up on the outside of the left guard. Roth slants right, fights quickly through the center, and swarms the QB for another big sack. His speed off the ball is easily one of his most impressive traits. He’s even shown to be quick enough to block punts on special teams. He’s not just a pass rusher, however. In his tape, we can see him perform in short-yardage situations. There’s a goal-line play where the opposing team is lined up near their endzone. Roth is sitting in “A” gap when the ball is snapped. He gets through before the guard gets up and manages to pull down the RB for a safety. The speed and athleticism are something to love about Roth.
QB: Noah Morris Noah Morris 5'8" | 165 lbs | QB Park Rapids | 2024 MN 5’8″ 160 lbs Park Rapids 2024
A QB/ILB two-way player, Morris has been on an offer spree lately. As a QB, Morris remains among the most underrated in the state. In his tape, the Pelican Rapids standout offers a lot to like. In his first play on film, we see Morris who is under pressure, scramble outside the pocket and deliver a 40-yard strike downfield. It perfectly hits the receiver in stride and he turns it into 6. Morris also shows the ability to throw on the run consistently. He rolls out well to either side and shows great ball placement even when throwing off of one foot. His mobility has also never been in question. The dude looks like a running back when he’s given the chance to advance the rock on foot. He can shake off defenders and is known to break quite a few tackles. Morris is a playmaker on both sides of the ball and could play either way for whoever snags him.
WR: Justice Moody Justice Moody 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR St. Paul Johnson | 2026 State MN 5’8″ 155 lbs St. Paul Johnson 2026
Moody was a stud last year as a freshman on varsity, and he’s only improved. He amassed nearly 700 yards with 10 TDs in the Governors 10 game season. Right away he opens his tape up with a screen and he makes not one, not two, but three defenders miss en route to a 15-yard touchdown. We see more of his work in the screen game in his next play too. He catches a quick screen on their opponent’s 45 before letting loose for another touchdown. While watching his film, you’ll quickly realize how dangerous he is in open space. Very rarely does just one DB bring him down. Moody is also incredibly explosive as a return man. You can’t give this kid any open space or he’s going to make you pay. Between his athleticism and his explosive route running, I think he’ll end up being one of the best receivers in the state by his senior year.
LB: Michael Naber Michael Naber 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Shakopee | 2025 State MN 6′ 200 lbs Shakopee 2025
I love big and physical linebackers and Naber fits that description to a “T”. He averaged 10 tackles per game in his 9 games started and lit kids up across the field in his tape. Right off the bat in his film, we see a blitzing Naber scream through the offensive line and tackle the QB less than a second after the ball was snapped. Again on the next play, we see a blitzing Naber, but this time the QB sees it and attempts to scramble outside of the pocket. However, Naber quickly adjusts to it and brings the QB down before he gets outside of the tackle. He blitzes “A” gap as well as anyone in 6A, and shows utility on a variety of stunts. He isn’t just a one-trick pony, however. Naber is patient and effective when he drops back to his zone and flows well to the ball when it’s released. I expect he will blossom into one of the best linebackers in 6A if not the state next season.
QB: Alex Schott 5’11” 155 lbs Hermantown 2025
One of the many talented QBs from the class of 2025, Schott helped lead his team to a 7-4 record as well as a section championship appearance. He had over 1,600 yards and 21 total touchdowns during his junior year. Schott opens up his tape with a great display of arm talent and athleticism. This kid has a BIG arm and he’s not scared to show it. First play on tape, he rolls out right quickly, finds his open man 40 yards downfield, and hits him in stride. To me, that is an immediate tone-setter. Throughout his film, you see a lot of that. Whether it’s a three-step drop or a five-step drop, Schott can sling the ball downfield with elite ball placement combined with great zip on the ball. He isn’t scared to take a hit and can throw on the run as well. Coaches and scouts alike need to look out for Schott.
DL: Tyson Thate Tyson Thate 5'11" | 210 lbs | DL Fairmont | 2024 MN 6′ 230 lbs Fairmont 2024
I’ve seen Thate play in person and I can say he lives up to the hype. The defensive lineman is #3 all-time on his school’s leaderboard for TFLs and is someone I could see potentially play LB in college. He opens his tape with what I remember him for, astounding speed. He speed rushes a pass-setting guard and swarms the QB almost instantly, bringing him down for a sack on a key 4th down. Later on, we see Thate’s presence in the run game. He’s lined up directly over the right guard. The guard fires off, but Thate is quicker. He extends on the guard and rips past him, dragging him down for a TFL. This speed and physicality are typical for him, it makes him versatile enough to play any spot on the defensive line. I’m excited to see more attention get thrown his way.
