In particular, teams and athletes from the greater Los Angeles to San Diego areas took center stage. In the article below, take a look at some standouts from the AYF 13U D1 National Champion, OG Ducks. The team featured athletes who traveled across the country to participate–and they did not disappoint.
– There may have been more talented prospects on the OG Ducks 13U team, but in my eyes, there was not a harder worker on the field
– Sisifa was the last athlete I got a picture of during the week, because of how difficult it was to take it. He literally never came off the field for the Ducks
– Stood out at left guard and defensive tackle throughout the week. Fast, physical and unrelenting. Recorded as many pancakes as he did tackles for loss
– Playing the opposite guard from Sisifa, Rosen (right guard) he was a big reason the Ducks point up points at will
– Was part of a dominant offensive line that helped the Ducks average nearly 40 points per game
– Tough and aggressive kid that appeared to enjoy run blocking over pass blocking
– On a team full of studs, Muasau is the kid I’d send off the bus first with his size and build
– Played defensive tackle at a high level as well, but loved what I saw out of him as a left tackle on the offensive side of the ball
– In the five quarters I watched this OG Ducks team play, I didn’t see him give up a sack or even allow any pressure on his side
– The man in the middle for the OG Ducks, Brunt did a nice job at the Center position for the Ducks
– With the weapons this team had, it seems simple to say, but Brunt just had to execute with clean exchanges and this team was going to win
– At this point, he is a little shorter than ideal, but Brunt is built like fire hydrant. Short, strong, solid and played with good leverage
– Has been a stud for several years and recently wrapped up a tremendous pre-high school career. He’s an athlete that I would offer right now, before he even enters high school
– Elite build, size and speed as a defensive end and tight end at this point of his career
– Teams literally ran away from his side of the field throughout the AYF National Tournament.
