Of the 17 players named to the 7A All-State Honorable Mention Team, 8 of them were underclassmen. 4 of those players just completed their junior season, and 1 sophomore earned his way onto the team. Below are the 5 underclassmen who earned 7A All-State Honorable Mention Honors this season.
Plumb is one of the top Class of 2025 prospects in Illinois, as the junior quarterback from St. Charles North had a season for the ages, earning IHSFCA 7A All-State Honorable Mention Honors. Plumb threw for 2,557 yards and 21 touchdowns this year. He also added 11 touchdowns on the ground. The dynamic, dual-threat signal caller is incredibly intelligent, as he can read opposing defenses and make any throw on the field to beat them. He can fit balls into tight windows and has a powerful arm that can beat the defense over the top. Plumb plays with strong poise, knowing when to keep his eyes down field on scrambles and knowing when to pull it down and run. This do-it-all quarterback’s stock is on the rise heading into his senior season.

Marshall is one of the biggest recruits in the country, as the junior from Fenwick has earned several Division I Power 5 offers and was named to the IHSFCA 7A All-State Honorable Mention Team as well as CCL Orange Defensive Player of the year. The 6’5, 250 lbs defensive end is a game wrecker who refuses to be blocked. He is incredibly strong and has tremendous athleticism that allows him to get after the quarterback and win one-on-one matchups with a variety of moves. Additionally, Marshall is an incredibly gifted tight end who makes some outstanding catches. This big time prospect in Marshall is a “can’t miss” for any major college program.
Klawikowski is a 5’9, 190 running back out of Hampshire. The junior followed up his tremendous sophomore campaign by earning IHSFCA 7A All-State Honorable Mention Honors after rushing for 1,118 yards and 11 touchdowns (16 total TD’s) this past season. Klawikowski is a bruising back who isn’t afraid to run through contact. He fits Hampshire’s offense perfectly, as he can gain 3 yards even when holes aren’t there. And if they are, Klawikowski has the speed and vision to take it to the house. This dynamic and powerful back has put together two impressive varsity seasons. Keep an eye on Klawikowski for his final campaign.

Davon Grant
Grant was the only sophomore to find his way onto the IHSFCA 7A All-State Honorable Mention Team. This honor was well deserved, as the 6’4, 185 lbs wide receiver and defensive back from Dekalb burst onto the scene this year. Grant is incredibly athletic, especially when considering both his size and age. At 6’4, he has the height and vertical to go up and get any ball thrown in his direction. Grant also possesses elite speed, as he can outrun defenders to the end zone after securing the catch. Defensively, Grant is a hard hitting corner who is also solid in coverage. This two-way in Grant player is a rising star in the state of Illinois.
McDonough is a junior offensive linemen out of Andrew High School. The 6’4, 290 lbs guard earned IHSFCA 7A All-State Honorable Mention Honors after his monster junior campaign. McDonough is an athletic, physical, and nasty player who understands leverage to pave rushing lanes in the run game. He has a quick first step and plays with a strong base that can move opposing defensive linemen backwards at the snap. He uses his hands well and delivers a strong punch that can stun defenders once in contact with McDonough. He moves incredible well, especially considering his size, and can seal off 3 and 1 techniques on down blocks. McDonough is a rising star who is ready to dominate his senior season.
