After an exciting regular season here in Wisconsin we have come across several freshmen that caught our attention from a wide array of reasons. Whether impressive frames, noteworthy statistics, or tape that shows an athlete with a bright future and plenty of traits to build upon. We are going to dive into the Class of 2027 and start shining the spotlight on the stars of tomorrow, today! Let’s dive in!
Adam is an impressively built OLB/DE coming out of Tomah, WI. A team that really made big leaps this fall, and are developing multiple impressive athletes for the next level. One of the top underclassmen on the roster is the 6’4″ 195 lbs Adam Brieske Adam Brieske 6’3″ | 195 lbs | LB Tomas | 2027 State WI . Adam is already making varsity impact. The big fella is showing that he can hold his own on the edge against the run. He is able to take on OL without losing ground, and Adam fights off those blocks to make tackles. The freshman has solid lateral agility as well, covering ground while staying square to the line. I’m excited for Adam’s future development.
Another big, eye catching athlete in the freshman Class is 6’4″ 205 lbs TE/DE Korz Loken Korz Loken 6’5″ | 200 lbs | ATH Iola- Scandinavia | 2027 State WI . The long strider has deceptive speed as he eats up ground with those strides leading to him pulling away from defenders. Loken already is an unfair mismatch with his big catch radius, speed, and smooth route running. The young playmaker has sound body control and balance that allow him to move that big frame easily. On defense, Korz does a great job of using his length to create separation, and then can quickly disengage and get to the heels of the OL. Sky is the limit for this standout.
Levi made his mark playing ILB for Neenah on the JV/C team. The 6’1″ 190 lbs athlete has a frame that has plenty of room to build on over the next three years. On the field, Levi shows a budding, balanced skill set. He has the range to pursue sideline to sideline. Levi is able to fight off blocks, and he has done a good job of being decisive, and aggressive. Boivin is a reliable tackler as well. He will be one to follow going forward.
Highlights
It is clear that Arrowhead has an outstanding running backs room for the foreseeable future. Freshman Jack Boerst Jack Boerst 5’10” | 160 lbs | RB Arrowhead | 2027 State WI has an impressive highlight reel showing traits that will get him plenty of attention over the coming years. Jack is patient and trusts his blocks. His vision and instincts are natural as he quickly finds lanes and blocks while also setting up defenders. Jack has the physical tools too. His jukes and jump cuts give him plenty of lateral movement. Plus he has the balance and power to rip through tackles. Once he hits the open field the long speed is there to create the big plays. Big things are ahead for Jack.
