Marquel Lowe Marquel Lowe 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Princeton | 2025 State WV – Princeton ’25 RB
Junior Princeton running back Marquel Lowe Marquel Lowe 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Princeton | 2025 State WV continues to have a huge junior season for the Princeton Tigers and was dominant in their 48-27 win over Parkersburg South. The win propelled Princeton to the #5 seed in the Class AAA playoffs where they’ll have a regular season rematch with Oak Hill. The Tigers won their regular season finale in large part due to Lowe’s 190 rushing yards on 25 carries and 4 touchdowns. He added a 5th touchdown in the receiving game and had two catches for 20 yards.
Andrew Stalnaker Andrew Stalnaker 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Parkersburg | 2024 State WV – Parkersburg ’24 WR/DB
Parkersburg senior receiver and defensive back Andrew Stalnaker Andrew Stalnaker 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Parkersburg | 2024 State WV was a Swiss Army Knife for the Big Reds in their 41-10 win over Musselman in the final game of the regular season. Stalnaker did his damage this week on defense and special teams instead of from his receiver position. He had a 9-yard punt block return for a touchdown and added two interceptions, 10 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, a fumble recovery, and a sack in the win which secured the #13 seed in the playoffs.
Fernando Valdivia Fernando Valdivia 5'9" | 160 lbs | QB Capital | 2026 State WV – Capital ’26 QB
The Capital Cougars had their best performance of the season against rival South Charleston and so did sophomore quarterback Fernando Valdivia Fernando Valdivia 5'9" | 160 lbs | QB Capital | 2026 State WV . Valdivia and the Capital offense put up 72 points on the struggling Black Eagles and the sophomore accounted for 314 total yards of offense in the victory. He would score 6 total touchdowns in the game having three a piece of passing and rushing scores. Capital finishes the year at 3-7 but has some very promising young talent in the program including their quarterback Valdivia.
Brody Hamric Brody Hamric 6'3" | 170 lbs | QB Greenbrier East | 2026 State WV – Greenbrier East ’26 QB
Another promising 2026 quarterback in the southern part of the state is Greenbrier East’s Brody Hamric Brody Hamric 6'3" | 170 lbs | QB Greenbrier East | 2026 State WV who has made a couple of our weekly standouts this year as a sophomore signal caller. Hamric completed 13 of 23 passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns in the Spartans’ 48-13 win over Lincoln County. He added a fifth touchdown with his legs and is a young quarterback that you need to know for the next two seasons as their season came to an end in week 11.
Abraham Fenwick Abraham Fenwick 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB George Washington | 2024 State WV – George Washington ’24 QB
Star senior George Washington quarterback Abe Fenwick had a five-touchdown output in their win over Woodrow Wilson this past Friday. Fenwick showed off his legs in this one with 5 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns showing that he’s not just a pocket passer. He also completed 7 of 11 passes for 135 yards and three more touchdowns in the game bringing his total for the year to 1,786 and 22 touchdowns.
Josh Love Josh Love 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV – Bridgeport ’25 RB
Zach Rohrig Zach Rohrig 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Bridgeport | 2024 State WV has gotten a lot of love this season for the Bridgeport Indians and rightfully so but junior teammate and fellow running back Josh Love Josh Love 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Bridgeport | 2025 State WV has quietly been very steady this season too. Love has been a solid #2 for Rohrig this year and had a nice performance against Lincoln this past Friday. He carried the ball 14 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the 62-14 drubbing. Love added 6 tackles on defense and has 824 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this season for the Indians as their #2 back.
Turner Garretson Turner Garretson 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Parkersburg South | 2024 State WV – Parkersburg South ’24 ATH/LB
Although his team fell to the #5 Princeton Tigers in a high-scoring affair, senior quarterback and linebacker Turner Garretson Turner Garretson 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Parkersburg South | 2024 State WV had a very good showing on both sides of the ball for the Patriots. Garretson completed 15 of 23 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown on offense. He was all over the field on defense and led his team in tackles with 19 total. Garretson finished the regular season with 2,000 passing yards and 24 touchdowns along with 433 yards and three touchdowns on offense. On defense, he totaled 111 tackles and proved to be one of the top two-way players in the state this season.
Amar’e Johnson Amar’e Johnson 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Wheeling Park | 2026 State WV – Wheeling Park ’26 RB
Super sophomore running back Amar’e Johnson Amar’e Johnson 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Wheeling Park | 2026 State WV continues to have a great sophomore campaign for the Wheeling Park Patriots and had his 5th 100-yard rushing performance this year to finish out the regular season. Johnson averaged 8.1 yards per carry against rival John Marshall and totaled 130 yards rushing and a touchdown on 16 carries. Johnson will have the opportunity to surpass 1,000 yards rushing on the season when Wheeling Park travels to Jefferson to take on the Cougars in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.
Keegan Sack Keegan Sack 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB Huntington | 2025 State WV – George Washington ’25 ATH
George Washington do-it-all athlete Keegan Sack Keegan Sack 5'10" | 195 lbs | RB Huntington | 2025 State WV had his breakout performance of the season in the Patriots’ 62-8 beatdown of Woodrow Wilson. Sack eclipsed 100 yards rushing and receiving in the game and scored three total touchdowns. He carried the ball 6 times for 109 yards and a touchdown while averaging 18.2 yards per carry. Sack scored two more touchdowns in the passing game and totaled 3 catches for 110 yards on 36.7 yards per catch. He finished the game with 219 all-purpose yards and now has over 1,100 of them on the season.
Anthony Ice Anthony Ice 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Parkersburg | 2024 State WV – Parkersburg ’24 WR
Senior receiver Anthony Ice Anthony Ice 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Parkersburg | 2024 State WV totaled 162 all-purpose yards and score three touchdowns in Parkersburg’s big win over Musselman in week 11. Ice caught five passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns in the game but made a huge play on special teams as well. He housed a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for his third score of the contest and is a welcome sight to see back on the field after missing a few games due to injury.
