Steele vs Brandeis
What looked to be a shootout on paper proved to be the exact opposite as Steele jumped out early to take a 21-0 lead on a banged up Brandeis team in the first quarter and Steele never looked back after that. Steele faces McNeil next after their shootout with Bowie in round 1 who finished the game 17-14. Look for both teams to bring everything they have this week.
Brennan v Pharr-San Juan-Alamo
This game could come down to who has the best bigs up front and who can stop the run. PSJA is averaging almost 300 rushing yards a game and 35+ pts a game while Brennan is averaging 34 pts a game with 150+ average on the ground. It looks like both the offensive lines and defensive lines will be in for a long day this week but let’s see who’s will versus whose skill will bring them out on top
Harlan v Harlingen
the Harlan Hawks are coming off probably one of their most impressive seasons ever at 11-0 but none of that matters in the playoffs as they’ll face a determined Harlingen team in round 2. Harlingen beat Edinburg 42-0 last week and they plan to keep that momentum rolling into round 2. If Harlan isn’t careful they could be going home tonight and preparing for the offseason.
Johnson v Lake Travis
Typically when Austin teams play against San Antonio teams in the playoffs in the past it’s always been one sided but with QB Ty Hawkins Ty Hawkins 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB San Antonio Johnson | 2025 State TX at the helm it’ll be quite interesting as this certified leader faces a tough Lake Travis team tonight. Lake Travis comes in very disciplined, hungry and ready to show they’re still the kings of 6A football in Texas but in order to do that they have to knock out San Antonio Johnson in round 2.
Judson v Dripping Springs
If you’ve watched Dripping Springs at all this season you know that they can be beat, however I’m not 100% sure that happens tonight. If Judson can establish dominance early and stay disciplined they have a chance to upset one of the 6A powerhouses from this season.
