He also ran for 833 yards with 14 touchdowns. His dual threat ability is hard to showcase in events like the Elite 11, but he does a good job throwing on the run which is big on the pro day drills.

Hawkins is a multi sport athlete and scouts have praised his deep ball.

Hawkins has made it very clear that he’s committed to TCU for the long term but has still managed to pick up a few offers since the season ended with UTEP, DUKE, CAL and Boston College to name a few. Several media outlets have Hawkins in the top 10 at the QB position in his class which could most definitely change as he continues to grow on and off the field. Hawkins, a TCU commit, had a standout performance with 469 yards and 6 touchdowns in a victory of Roosevelt. Ty has the skill set to make plays outside the pocket, he has a calm demeanor not getting rattled by pressure and his decision making with the football is what makes him a weapon with the football in his hands. He has his Johnson squad ranked high in the San Antonio area polls due his stellar play and they are one of the favorites to come out of San Antonio when the playoffs start up. His quick release, versatility in making throws and athleticism has made him one of the most sought after prospects from San Antonio.

Hawkins has a cannon, he has the arm talent to push the football outside the numbers with velocity on a rope and he has great touch on his deep ball. Ty has a quick release which enables him to get rid of the football quickly to avoid the rush, he shows great pocket presence that allows him to navigate a muddy pocket to deliver dimes to his targets and his superb footwork with a strong base allows him to get extra torque on his throws downfield. Hawkins is a savvy runner in the open field, he runs with power and he has the speed separate at the second level to make a house call. In 2022, Hawkins was the 28-6A Offensive MVP and he comes back in 2023 poised to continue to light up opposing defenses. Ty has been one the hottest recruits in the Class of 2025 this offseason, proving that he has that “It Factor”, that college programs covet and he committed to TCU, spearheading at talented class for the Horned Frogs.
