Underclassmen Standouts on Varsity (Part 1.)

More importantly, the rising freshman and the rare 8th graders, who have cracked their respected High School varsity line-ups early in the season. These special underclassmen have a very high percentage of being future household names in the New England region gridiron world. History has shown us that these student-athletes will likely move on to solid college programs at all levels to enjoy additional years of playing this wonderful game while earning themselves a great education. Ala didn't see any snaps until there was less than nine minutes left in the fourth quarter.  But his 6-yard touchdown run up the middle extended his team's lead with 3:50 left in the game. That allowed his team to hold on for a win. Had a chance to view his varsity game highlights from a game Sept 15, 2023.  He was positioned as an edge defender and showed obvious quickness while he pressured the QB. In his second game this week, he earned two touchdowns. He is a smaller sized back at 5'5u0022 but with a flash of 1st step quickness and burst.  He runs with a low center of gravity and good lean.  He can stick his foot in the ground and break away instantly to make defenders miss.
