Listed below are defensive players who made big stands along with their teammates and players who made those couple of plays that swung the momentum of the game. We also have offensive players who did not mind carrying a chunk of the offense and made the most out of their touches. With the regular season coming to an end, every win is important and these players are stepping up in big moments.
Le’kell McGowan | LB | Clear Falls | 2024
Mc’Gowen had a standout performance, recording 12 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 sacks, and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. He applied pressure throughout the night and was a handful for the opposing offense alongside his teammates.
Ethan Lea | DB | Tomball Memorial | 2025
Lea played his role to perfection. From his safety spot, he filled in rushing lanes and limited many runs at the point of attack. Lea was all over the place, and involved in almost every stop. He stayed low and proved to be a sure tackler. Lea finished the game with a total of 21 tackles and 2 TFL.
Michael Wilson | RB | Klein Collins | 2024
Wilson was wearing down defenses once again in the matchup vs. Klein Cain. He ran with strength, power, and explosion. Wilson was gashing through running lanes and kept drives going. Wilson finished the night with 155 yards and 3 touchdowns on 22 touches, and more importantly the win.
Donte Lewis Donte Lewis 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB St. Thomas | 2024 State TX | QB | St. Thomas Catholic | 2024
Lewis continues to shine this season and put up ridiculous numbers. This week vs. Walnut Grove, Lewis threw for 292 yards and 6 touchdowns on 22/27 passing. Lewis added 153 rushing yards, including a 91 yard scamper, and 1 touchdowns to his totals. He and the Eagles offense keep rolling showing no signs of slowing down.
Alexander McMoore | DL | Katy Taylor | 2025
McMoore was active the entire night vs. Jordan which applying continuous pressure and stuffing the run. 95 was fighting through blocks, setting the edge, and hurrying the opposing quarterback all game long. His play led to many crucial stops towards the end of the game and helped seal the win in a tight game.
Markie Grant | ATH | Dekaney | 2024
Grant was playing with his hair on fire. Sideline to sideline player who does his best to get involved in every stop defensively, and an athlete who makes big plays offensively. Grant tallied a total off 14 tackles, 1 caused fumble, and a fumble recovery as well as 4 catches for 128 yards in an important district win.
Tremayne Hill | RB | Katy | 2026
The sophmore continued his streak of 100+ yard games and showed his vision, strength, and quickness. Hill has impressed this season behind a strong offensive line and this game was no different. He read his blocks well, found the cutback lane, and was decisive on his moves. Hill finished the game with 28 carries for 170 yards and 2 tocuhdowns.
Ladamion McDowell | RB | Pearland | 2025
McDowell put his explosion and elusiveness vs. Alief Taylor, where he ran for 155 yards and 4 touchdowns on 23 carries. McDowell was a focal point of the offense once again and did not take his foot off of the pedal. He gained chunk yard after chunk yard, maintaining drives and finishing runs strong into the endzone. McDowell has been a consistent runner throughout the year and does not look to be slowing down as we near playoffs.
