Magruder went off to the tune of 240 yards on 26 carries in Week 3 against Selah to lead Ellensburg to their first win of the season. The Junior RB has only picked up traction recently online, but has eye-popping measurables that suggest him to be massively underrated. I recently called him the best kept secret in his class, and I expect there to be plenty of suitors vying for him at the same time once he picks up his first offer. He’s posted a verified track time of 10.73 in the 100m Dash, and there’s videos on his Twitter of him squatting 405 lbs with excellent mobility. He also beat out all other RBs in a 40-yard race at FSP’s Max Xposure Showcase in August, finishing 2nd in the overall race to fellow ’25 burner Cam Weir by a small margin. I saw him workout up-close over the summer and watched him improve vastly over the course of just a few weeks. It’s no surprise he’s dominating 2A competition and it won’t be when recruiters start flocking to him either.
I wrote about Kafentzis’ tape in July first and recognized an extremely versatile receiver. He’s aggressive when high pointing, has great hands and is quick and speedy on screens. He put it all on display and added flair in Week 3 against Sumner, catching 9 passes and taking 3 of them to the end zone for 167 yards. He showed off his explosiveness by hurdling a defender cleanly, and switched fields to take another score all the way to the house. His instincts also take over on defense as a Safety too, both as he comes up and hits like a truck in the run game as a box safety, and when patrolling the defensive backfield as he reads early and covers ground to use his natural ball skills. He’s on one of the most loaded WR corps in the state but deserves far more attention, as one of the premier uncommitted seniors left in the state. Don’t be surprised if he makes some of the most pivotal plays in the playoffs this year and is a D1 player next year.
McWilliams transferred to Juanita this offseason to form one of the State’s most exciting offensive duos and hasn’t disappointed one bit. He looks like one of the top WRs in the State at the moment, going for over 100 yds in each of the past two weeks, going off with 13 receptions last week for 161 yds and 2 TDs. Him and Dallas So’oto Dallas So’oto 5’11” | 190 lbs | QB Juanita | 2025 State WA have turned Juanita into a true contender again and both are looking to set themselves up nicely for recruiting this offseason. Nolan will play college football at a high level in 2025.
Highlights
Washington is a lemgthy 6’3″ wide receiver who also features as a nasty defensive end for Roosevelt. He’s been an underappreciated name due to the Roughriders finishing with poor records the past several years but has the skillset and goals of a college football player. He runs good routes and beats secondaries deep often with good feel for the holes in deep coverages that team to stop the new age of Roosevelt’s spread offense that put up 70 points on West Seattle in Week 5.
Austin May Austin May 5’8″ | 150 lbs | WR Federal Way | 2025 State WA is one of the least appreciated speedsters in Western WA. He showed it on the track this summer with an 11.00-flat 100m at the Junior Olympics, and translated it to the field early this season with 13 receptions for 468 yards and 5 TDs in his first 3 games. He takes the top off on deep routes with long touchdowns such as one textbook 80 yard bomb on a go route. He had two on seams including a 90 yarder where he adjusts to grab it over his outside shoulder. There’s one on a post route which he destroys the corner when he cuts inside. He also took a slant through the secondary, creasing the corner and safety with a good angle and pure speed. He’s instinctual and can find the hole in the zone without going deep as well, and will be one of the better WRs in the state if he starts snapping off hitch and comeback routes to move the chains too. He’ll be one of the more interesting WRs to watch be recruited this offseason in the 2025 class.
