– Bartlett (TN) defensive back Devin Rutherford Devin Rutherford 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Bartlett | 2024 State TN is one of the best overall prospects still available from our #TN2024 class and he remains under the radar according to my scouting report as I feel this guy is one of the best swiss army knife defensive back prospects we have in the Volunteer State. His recruitment has been of wonder for me and several others up to this point as D1 programs know about Rutherford but many have yet to pull the trigger.
According to the Memphis area product, Rutherford is currently receiving the most interest right now from Eastern Ky, Fordham, Lindenwood, SE Missouri St. and Tennessee St. and all those schools have already offered. His recruitment is far from finished though because Rutherford doesn’t appear ready to make any decisions as I feel he is holding out hope for some D1 programs to get involved.
This is one prospect to follow along with throughout the next eight weeks to see where his recruitment goes as I feel whoever signs Rutherford, will be getting a steal and an instinctive defensive back with tremendous college upside.

– Staying out in the West Tennessee region, Southwind (TN) defensive end Kavion Benton Kavion Benton 6'3" | 250 lbs | DL Southwind | 2024 State TN is still available as he sits on the open market as one of the best overall prospects from our #TN2024 class and as I write this, I don’t see the Jags stud defensive line making a decision anytime soon.
After some conversations with the Memphis area product, I get the feeling that he is still waiting to see what could happen over the next two months before he is ready to shut down his recruitment. I could be way off here but I feel that Benton is waiting to hear from some Power Five schools that are in need of a pass rusher.
According to Benton, he is currently hearing the most from Arkansas St., Memphis, Oregon and UAB with Georgia Tech showing increased interest. If I had to guess who the leader in the clubhouse might be at the moment, I would go with the hometown Memphis Tigers. I see that as a good fit but I can also see Benton playing on the Power Five level as well, so I’m curious to see where his recruitment goes over the coming weeks.

– Even though McCallie (TN) DL/OL Olivier Camerlain Olivier Camerlain 6'6" | 260 lbs | DL McCallie | 2024 State TN is currently committed to Lafayette, it hasn’t stopped other schools from recruiting him, including multiple D1, Power Five schools. One team that has taken an increased interest with this fellow Canadian are the Vanderbilt Commodores. According to Camerlain, the Dores have been looking into him pretty hard here recently, specifically looking at him to play defensive line.
What the SEC program might like about Camerlain is his size, length, powerful hands and ability to play multiple positions across the defensive line. This is a big dude with a wide radius that tells you he can pack on more size, so you can see why Vanderbilt would be interested with Camerlain and think his potential is large in the Southeastern Conference. Don’t be surprised to see other bigger programs try to get involved with this Chattanooga area prospect due to his size and upside.

– One of the best available defensive linemen from our #TN2024 class is Elizabethton (TN) senior Mason Ball Mason Ball 6'5" | 260 lbs | DL Elizabethton | 2024 State TN and even though he has seen an increase with his recruitment of late, I think another spike could be headed his way over the next several weeks. The 6’5 265 pound defensive end that brings versatility to the trenches, Ball has been picking up some solid FCS offers of late from the likes of Eastern Ky, ETSU, The Citadel and two D1 service offers from Army and Navy but I think other schools could be getting involved pretty soon.
According to inside sources, besides his current offers and the schools listed above, Ball is also currently receiving interest from the likes of Air Force, Illinois St, Lehigh, Mercer, MTSU, North Alabama, Old Dominion and Virginia Tech. There could be a few other schools sniffing around and showing interest as Ball has been one of the hottest recruits in the state for the month of October.
The Cyclones senior D-lineman is holding out hope for some D1 schools to get involved before it comes time to making a decision and right now, it’s unclear as to when Ball might want to put a stop to his recruitment. What I do know is that Ball will be one of the heavily recruited #TN2024 prospects down the final stretch of this process and could very well see those elusive D1 schools start to get involved.

– Many in this state felt that Alcoa (TN) quarterback Cody Pagach Cody Pagach 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Alcoa | 2024 State TN would be committed by now but that isn’t the case as the Tornadoes senior remains on the open market and available to all takers. The 6’3 gunslinger has some of the best mechanics not just in the state but the Southern region, so it’s a bit surprising to see Pagach still uncommitted and without a future college home.
Maybe that changes over the coming months as we start heading into a busy recruiting season and with signing day coming in December, rosters will be changing, so opportunities could be there. As things sit right now, it looks like UT-Martin is pushing the hardest and the school that is showing the most interest. Pagach visited there recently and according to him, he really enjoyed his time there.
The Skyhawks made an impression but Pagach isn’t ready to pledge and actually, the Alcoa signal caller is nowhere close to deciding as he may take things past December to see where things sit. Besides the offer and interest from UT-Martin, according to Pagach he is also receiving interest from Michigan St., Miami OH, North Texas, UNLV, Washington St. Western Michigan and Western Ky.
Anybody has a shot right now for Pagach as he is wide open currently with his recruitment and interested to see where everything goes from here and out.

– It’s been a steady recruiting rise for Cannon Co. (TE/DE) Tucker Kyne Tucker Kyne 6'5" | 225 lbs | ATH Cannon Co. | 2024 State TN as he holds a few FCS offers at the moment but has consistently been receiving interest from tons of programs from several levels that could jump in the mix with an offer soon. One school to pay attention to is Jacksonville St. The Gamecocks began showing interest a little over a month ago and have continued to increase their interest with this Mid-TN talent ever since.
Kyne is looking to visit the Gamecocks campus in Mid-November and if all goes well, I would not be surprised to see the C-USA program extend an offer. The Lions senior prospect is also feeling increased interest from UT-Martin, who Kyne will check out this weekend for the homecoming game. The Skyhawks have already offered and may push closer to a possible commit with a great visit.
Other schools to pay attention to include Tennessee St. and Vanderbilt, who Kyne will visit this December, Coastal Carolina, who wants him as a PWO but still could receive a visit at some point and a few others who are sniffing around, trying to see if this Mid-TN big man fits their style.

– The top running back coming out of the East Tennessee region for the #TN2024 could be McCallie ball carrier Javon McMahan Javon McMahan 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB McCallie | 2024 State TN and owning that title comes by way of a breakout senior year that has put this Chattanooga area prospect on the recruiting map. While college coaches are aware of McMahan, he has yet to see his offer list grow but I think that should change over the next two months.
Already holding an offer in-hand from UT-Martin, according to McMahan is also receiving interest from North Alabama, Samford, Tennessee St and Texas A&M-Commerce. The Blue Tornado senior back should be taking a visit soon to North Alabama and if the Lions offer, they could become the leader in the clubhouse.
Tennessee St. should gain a visit soon from McMahan as well and I believe he is very open to other visits, especially if new schools get involved, which I think they will. Look for McMahan to also gain a significant spike in his #PRZTN ranking in the coming update as the rise has been earned by his Mr. Football level senior season.

– Page junior linebacker Brenden Anes Brenden Anes 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Page | 2025 State TN took an unofficial visit last weekend to Wisconsin and I think the Badgers could soon become the next school to offer and get on board with this Mid-TN product. This is a rising defensive prospect that many need to start learning about as Anes sports the size, speed and upside that many D1, Power Five defensive coaches would enjoy developing.
He holds offers from Charlotte, Indiana, Liberty, Memphis and Western Ky but is also receiving interest from the likes of Cincinnati, Miami OH, Tennessee, UConn, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest. I think you will continue to see this guy’s stock rise over the coming months, especially when we get out of the season and start truly evaluating film.
