#7 Jenks had their backs against the wall and that's a dangerous spot to put the tradition-rich Trojans. After losing to Westmoore at home, the Trojans had the challenge of a short week, a road trip to Norman and a Thursday night contest against #4 Norman North. The Trojans bounced back in a major way with a 42-14 win over the Timberwolves on Thursday night. They took advantage of Norman North's four turnovers in the first half to jump out to a big lead that they wouldn't surrender.

In addition to the four turnovers, the Trojans also used the big play on offense to light up the scoreboard in the first half. Norman North had some promising drives on several different occasions but they either turned the ball over or got pushed back by a Jenks defense that was playing with an intensity throughout the night. Norman North's first drive featured a 30+ yard run that ended with a fumble that was recovered by the Trojans. On third down, quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='598834' first='Owen' last='Jones'] found freshman sensation [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] on a 72-yard touchdown to put the Trojans up 7-0.

Norman North turned the ball over three more times and Jenks scored three more touchdowns before halftime. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='115729' first='Simian' last='Gilkey'] added a short touchdown run halfway through the first quarter. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] scored from 31 yards out early in the second quarter and less than two minutes later, he scored his second touchdown of the night to put Jenks up 28-0 after the Trojans recovered a Norman North fumble. Just before halftime, Norman North had first and goal but would get pushed back to the point where they were out of field goal range.

The defense was lights out in the first three quarters before they sat the majority of their starters for the final quarter. Jenks added two more touchdowns in the third quarter with [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] scoring from 11 yards out and then [player_tooltip player_id='598834' first='Owen' last='Jones'] found [player_tooltip player_id='482965' first='Ayden' last='Christiansen'] for a 60-yard touchdown to give the Trojans a 42-0 lead after three quarters. The Timberwolves added a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter against the Jenks backups as they fell to 4-1 on the season and Jenks improved to 3-3.

Class 6A-1 is absolutely wild and unpredictable this season. Outside of Bixby, who continue their dominance week after week, the rest of the class is hard to get a gauge on. Here's a good example. In week zero, Edmond Santa Fe beat Jenks but then they lost to Norman North in week two. But Jenks just beat Norman North on Thursday night. And that's just one example of how crazy this season has been so far.

One thing is for sure, he was definitely the most efficient player on the field and made the most of his opportunities. He only had three catches on the night but he finished with 157 yards and a touchdown. He had receptions of 45 yards, 52 yards and a 60-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Christiansen is an interesting 2024 prospect to keep an eye on. He has good size and he proved on Thursday night that he has some legitimate speed. On all three of his receptions, he got completely behind the defense and was wide open. Christiansen is definitely a playmaker that should be talked about more at wide receiver.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["191607"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"We've been waiting to see a game like Thursday night from junior [player_tooltip player_id='191607' first='Hudson' last='Ball'] along the defensive line. Over the last year, we could see the potential in Ball to be a game-wrecking defensive end. On Thursday night, he put all the pieces together and he impressed throughout the night. We've seen quite a bit of football this season and Ball now has the title of u0022hardest hitteru0022 in the state for at least the games that we've seen in person. Ball absolutely laid the hammer down on multiple plays throughout the game. It was like a brick wall was being shot into the backfield. Anything that Ball hit would go down in a hurry and would be moved backwards immediately. Ball is a defensive prospect that should see his recruitment sky rocket this season.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["402378"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Jenks sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] showed off why he's one of the best running backs in the state. Jones finished off the game with 14 carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a pair of catches on offense as he has turned into a complete weapon for the Trojans on the offensive side of the ball. Jenks is getting creative with how they use Jones on that side of the ball. Whether it's as a traditional tailback, split out at wide receiver or taking direct snaps, Jones is being put in a position to put up some strong numbers this season. He was explosive on Thursday night and ran the ball incredibly well. Jones also had an impact on the defensive side of the ball in the win over Norman North, coming up with an interception in the second quarter.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["598834"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Christiansen ended up being the top target for Jenks junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='598834' first='Owen' last='Jones'] on Thursday night but Jones had a big night in the air. He finished the night with 265 yards on 9-15 passing with a pair of touchdowns. But Jones got off to a hot start with the long ball. Three of his first four completions went for at least 45 yards. He had three completions total on the night were 50+ yarders and the Trojans rolled on the offensive side of the ball. Jones has had a strong season so far and he continues to get more and more confidence. And after watching the Trojans on Thursday night, there is no doubt that Jones is going to benefit from having some legitimate weapons as pass catchers. Jones is a QB we'll be keeping an eye on this fall.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["478124"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Next week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we'll be breaking down some of the top freshmen in the state. One of those players that will be prominently featured will be Jenks standout [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] and Thursday night's performance backed up all the hype. Stanford scored on a 72-yard touchdown on Jenks' third snap of the night. He beat his man deep and caught a perfect pass in stride and rolled into the end zone. Stanford would touch the ball a few more times on the night and was also an impact player on the defensive side of the ball. He almost came down with two interceptions and he was an excellent tackler in the open field. Stanford is already establishing himself as one of the top 2027 prospects in the state and the ceiling is incredibly high.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-652023682236f"} /-->
