[player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] - West Charlotte - The 6'1 and 160-pound freshman scored on the first play of the game as West Charlotte ran a reverse pass trick play, and he was able to catch the ball over a DB in 1 on 1 coverage and take it the distance for 70 yards. There were also times when he was open behind the Mallard Creek defense, but passes weren't able to connect with him. West Charlotte Coach Sam Greiner said that Davion has a bright future, and he is already someone they trust to make big catches and big plays in the passing game, as well as in the kick return game.

Kianthony Smith - West Charlotte - "KD" as he is called by everyone, played a good game from the quarterback position - he was under pressure the majority of the time when he dropped back to pass, and he was able to continually scramble out of pressure situations and make throws and runs outside of the pocket for first downs to keep drives alive for the Lions. He was also able to complete a couple of big passes down the field to both [player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1321100' first='Rakim' last='Finch'] which helped set up points for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='396831' first='Benjamin' last='Black'] - Mallard Creek - The Rutgers commit showed once again that he is a big-time speed threat with the ball in his hands. He caught a 50-yard TD pass from QB [player_tooltip player_id='1257574' first='Evan' last='Rambert'] to give his team a brief lead in the second quarter, where he was easily 5 yards behind the defensive back. He had another TD catch called back for a holding penalty, and he also pulled some double duty, playing defensive back in passing situations for his defense.

Caleb Knight - Mallard Creek - At 6'0 and 150 pounds, Caleb is the running quarterback for the Mavericks, and he is very quick, shifty, and has some excellent speed in the open field. He had a 20-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter that cut their deficit to 17-15, and while he was in the game, the offense was able to move and churn out some yards on the ground.
