Week three has come and gone and there were plenty of standout performers in the second week of the WV high school football season. Here are 15 athletes that stood out during week three of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='370255' first='Gage' last='Wright'] - Parkersburg South '24 RB/LB

[player_tooltip player_id='370255' first='Gage' last='Wright'] may make our weekly standouts every week this season with another incredible stat line in Parkersburg South's 56-20 win over Woodrow Wilson. The senior running back and linebacker had another 6 touchdowns performance which is quickly becoming the norm for him. Wright rushed for 133 yards on 10 carries and scored twice in the running game. He also added two more touchdowns in the passing game and scored on both of his receptions. His sixth touchdown would come on defense on a fumble scoop and score. Wright now has 16 total touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season and is well on his way to winning the Kennedy Award as the state's best overall player.

[player_tooltip player_id='370285' first='Cannon' last='Lewis'] - Cabell Midland '24 LB

[player_tooltip player_id='370285' first='Cannon' last='Lewis'] was showing off and proving why he's our #1 ranked linebacker in the state in Cabell Midland's impressive win over annual Ohio contender Ironton. Lewis had one of the best defensive performances I've ever seen at the high school level. He had an astounding 24 tackles with seven of them going for a loss. Lewis also added a sack, forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the game. The announcers seemingly called his name on every snap and the North Carolina State commit was critical in their 34-21 win.

[player_tooltip player_id='892316' first='Tanner' last='Hathaway'] - Bridgeport '24 RB/LB

Bridgeport senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='892316' first='Tanner' last='Hathaway'] only played in the first half but was able to have a giant impact in their win over John Marshall. Typically known for his standout defensive play, Hathaway rushed for three touchdowns and 68 yards on just seven carries in one half of play. He scored on runs of 4, 20, and 18 yards while still being productive on defense. Hathaway added one pass breakup, 2 tackles for loss and 5 total tackles on that side of the ball too.

[player_tooltip player_id='866482' first='Zach' last='Rohrig'] - Bridgeport '24 RB

Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='866482' first='Zach' last='Rohrig'] makes his second appearance in our weekly standouts with another big game on the ground in a dominating 72-24 win over John Marshall. The Bridgeport star carried the ball 12 times in the first half and was able to rush for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Rohrig also added an interception on defense and finished his night early in the third quarter with 212 total yards and three touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='907182' first='Marquel' last='Lowe'] - Princeton '25 RB

[player_tooltip player_id='907182' first='Marquel' last='Lowe'] and the Princeton offense had a big night on offense with the junior running back having a breakout game. Lowe rushed for 145 yards and accumulated three touchdowns in a 42-28 victory. He had phenomenal back-to-back plays in the game sacking the Oak Hill quarterback on defense and then ripping off an 80-yard touchdown on the next play. Lowe put together an all-around impressive game and looks to make our rankings in the next update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1011963' first='Chance' last='Barker'] - Princeton '26 QB

Princeton sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1011963' first='Chance' last='Barker'] makes his first appearance in our weekly standouts with an impressive showing from him and the Princeton offense in a 42-28 win over Oak Hill. The 6'1 170 signal caller threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns in the game but was also very effective in the running game. Barker also added 79 yards and another score to bring his total to four for the game. This game would be Barker's first varsity score and he debuted in a big way for the Tigers with four of them.

[player_tooltip player_id='870564' first='Anthony' last='Bachinski'] - Brooke '24 WR/DB

One of my personal favorite players in the 2024 class is Brooke's [player_tooltip player_id='870564' first='Anthony' last='Bachinski'] who I saw many times this summer at camps and he was an integral part in one of Brooke's biggest wins in years. The Bruins were victorious in a 14-9 win over University which many considered an upset and Bachinski made his impact all over the field. The senior had 9 catches for 96 yards with seven of them going for first downs. On defense, he was also impactful picking off a pass and breaking up 3 passes. Bachinski also had 5 tackles on the night and most importantly a big Brooke Bruins victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='370366' first='Keyshawn' last='Robinson'] - Jefferson '24 WR

Jefferson's [player_tooltip player_id='370366' first='Keyshawn' last='Robinson'] was essential in the Cougars' hard-fought win over the always talented Spring Valley Timberwolves. Known as a receiver, it was in the running game where Robinson found himself making the biggest impact. The senior WVU commit rushed for two touchdowns on 6 carries for 54 yards. He would also make a huge impact in the game on special teams bringing back a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown bringing his total touchdowns to three for the game. Robinson also made several nice plays on defense from his safety spot and was a crucial part of Jefferson's big win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1183529' first='Lucas' last='Johaim'] - Lincoln County '25 QB

Lincoln County junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1183529' first='Lucas' last='Johaim'] makes his debut on our weekly standouts with an all-around great game versus Ripley. Johaim was deadly with his arm and his legs in a 26-7 win. He went 11 of 16 for 171 yards and two touchdowns through the air while also adding 28 yards and two more touchdowns with his legs. Johaim is new to our radar but with more games like that one he could see himself in our future rankings updates.

[player_tooltip player_id='450989' first='Kash' last='Gedeon'] - Martinsburg '25 WR

Our #3 ranked receiver in the 2025 class had a productive game versus Boys Latin (MD) in a 48-0 blowout win. Although he didn't have to play four full quarters, Martinsburg WR [player_tooltip player_id='450989' first='Kash' last='Gedeon'] still caught two touchdown passes and showed why he's one of the top athletes in the 2025 class. Gedeon snuck behind the secondary for both of his touchdown catches on a 24-yard post route and a 34-yard corner route. The physical Gedeon also flashed his blocking ability and added a long kickoff return to midfield.

Week three has come and gone and there were plenty of standout performers in the second week of the WV high school football season. Here are 15 athletes that stood out during week three of the season.
