Three teams (Carl Albert, Elgin and Guthrie) all faced top team teams from Class 4A and Collinsville hosted a ranked team from Class 6A-2. All four got wins and looked really impressive throughout the night. Class 5A is absolutely loaded with good teams and they showed that on Friday night.

Collinsville hosted 6A-2's #6 Bartlesville and sent the Bruins home following a 27-14 victory. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='375219' first='Hudson' last='Henslick'] continues his great start to the fall with another stellar performance in the win. He caught two more touchdowns and also ran a kick back for another score. Defending champion Carl Albert went out to western Oklahoma and beat 4A's #8 Elk City 56-14. Coming off their 1 VS 1 showdown with Muskogee, there was no let down for the Titans as they looked the part once again. And finally, Guthrie hosted 4A's #4 Tuttle and their defense once again came to play. This is a unit that has given up just three points through four games and running back [player_tooltip player_id='448519' first='Jaylen' last='Harper'] had another strong performance as they beat the Tigers 20-3.

Out Of State Statements Made

3A's #2 Lincoln Christian made an incredibly loud statement on Friday night when they beat Arkansas powerhouse Shiloh Christian 20-14. The Bulldogs finished off their gauntlet of a non-district schedule with an impressive win over the Saints on Friday night. Shiloh beat Lincoln last season in week three and that was the first regular season loss for Lincoln Christian in several seasons. The defense proved that they can be one of the best in the state as they held Shiloh's star running back to less than 100 yards after he had over 600 yards through the first two games. And sophomore wide receiver and defensive back Malikai Dillard continues to show that he's one of the emerging stars in the state with another stellar performance.

Over in Arkansas, Mustang was making their first trip out of state in school history as they went over to Springdale to face Har-Ber and it ended up being an instant classic. The Broncos would win a high-scoring 49-47 contest on a game-winning field goal with less than 30 seconds remaining. Mustang is proving that they are not just a team to look out for in the future with all of the young and talented players they have. This is a team that expects to contend in Class 6A-1 this season. Despite several new starters on the offensive side of the ball, the Broncos have impressed through the first three games of the season.

Down in Texas, Sulphur got their first win of the season with a dominating 62-21 victory over Whitesboro. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='133792' first='Damontre' last='Patterson'] had a really solid performance as it was only a matter of time before the Bulldogs got in the win column. They had a tough start to the season with a loss to 2A's #1 Washington followed by a one-point loss to rival Davis. Now, they have a little momentum as they enter district play and it's arguably the toughest one in Class 3A.

Other Notable Results

- Blanchard 34, Shawnee 31

Blanchard wrapped up a tough non-district slate against three teams from Class 5A with a 34-31 win over Shawnee. The Wolves gave the Lions all they wanted on Friday night and Blanchard would have to dig deep to knock off Shawnee. Blanchard was able to bounce back from a loss to Piedmont in week two and now they shift their focus to district play. It's one of the tougher districts in the state and they open up against an improved Harrah team.

- Marlow 27, Perkins-Tryon 21

In the best 3A game of the week three slate, we had #4 Marlow going on the road and knocking off #3 Perkins-Tryon. This was the only game this week that featured top five teams going head to head and the Outlaws got a big road win and with it comes some serious momentum. Both of these teams are in similar positions where they want to contend for the 3A state title. Right now, Heritage Hall and Lincoln Christian are the favorites but Marlow is a team to watch.

- Norman North 57, Yukon 28

Norman North continues to make a serious case that they are a contender for state in 6A-1. After beating Edmond Santa Fe last week, they returned home to beat up on Yukon on Friday night. The Timberwolves won 57-28 and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='284117' first='Mason' last='James'] is clearly a star on the rise in this Norman North offense. Now, the Timberwolves turn their attention to the measuring stick of contenders in 6A-1. They travel to face defending champion Bixby on Friday.
