<p>Zimmerman was born to be a pocket passer. He has both the size and arm strength to stand in the pocket and sling the pigskin. He threw for 335 yards and threw three touchdowns in a week one victory.</p>

<p><strong>Corey Cumrine, </strong>QB 5'9”, 155, Sedgwick, ‘25</p>

<p>It might be time to start referring to Sedgwick as “Quarterback High School.” The Cardinals have another up-and-coming back after sending their last one off to play college ball. Crumrine, a junior, threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns in week one.</p>

<p>Holtzman had a huge season opener. He distributed the pigskin to the tune of 335 yards, five touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 73 percent. Keep an eye on this guy if you are a college coach in Southeast Kansas or Northwest Oklahoma.</p>

<p>Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='353224' first='Marco' last='Rodriguez'] helped guide Bishop Miege to a week one win. The big-framed quarterback threw for 227 yards and four touchdowns. His pass completion percentage was just under 50 percent.</p>

<p>Louisburg looks poised to make a deep playoff run in 2023 and a key to that success with be their senior quarterback. Battle rushed for 135 yards and five touchdowns in a week one win for Louisburg.</p>

<p>Grafke's Lions came up short on the scoreboard in week one against De Soto, but he posted eye-popping numbers in the loss. The senior wideout finished with 7 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns.</p>

<p>You have to appreciate it a young man who posts his Hudl highlights in an impressive time frame. Watching Myers reel it is easy to notice how smooth and accurate his route-running is. He caught 15 balls against St. James Academy for 205 yards and one score.</p>

<p>Melvin is a quick-moving receiver who can beat you deep or get the tough yards as a possession receiver. During Norton's season opener, he caught 11 balls for 203 yards and end zone celebrations.</p>

<p>Humboldt has a huge offensive weapon in tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1107715' first='Sam' last='Hull']. He made five receptions for 172 yards and one touchdown in week one.</p>

<p><strong>Jackson Scarlett</strong>, WR, 6'0”, 165, Sedgwick, ‘24</p>

<p>In order for Cumrine to throw for over 300 yards, one could surmise that an athlete posted big numbers on the other end of those completions. That athlete was Scarlett who caught six total balls, three for touchdowns and finished with 171 yards receiving in the Cardinals season-opening victory.</p>
