There were five players who stood out to me throughout the chaos. Below, I detail what makes these specific prospects look ready for the next level.
Caden Throneberry and Tyree Bonnett Tyree Bonnett 6’1″ | 210 lbs | WR Marquette | 2024 State MO had a monster second half for the Mustangs last Friday. However, we must credit Ryan Mitchell Ryan Mitchell 6’3″ | 310 lbs | OL Marquette | 2024 State MO with solidifying the protection in order for the three touchdown second half performance to occur. Ryan displayed good patience, a flexible base, and good lateral quickness mirroring Summit’s speed rushers in pass protection. Good effort and flashes of next level strength got displayed in Ryan’s anchor at the point of attack. Ryan’s consistency in both the run and pass game will have him locked in as a top instate iOL prospect before this season has finished.

Dominic Bentrup Dominic Bentrup 6’1″ | 215 lbs | LB Rockwood Summit | 2024 State MO was one of many contributors that was smothering Marquette’s run game. His stout anchor and active hands showed in run defense, while good size and OLB versatility got displayed rushing the passer as a standup defensive end. Next level length and strength got displayed fighting through larger offensive tackles with power pass rush moves. I noticed Dominic’s quickness, bend, and good shed technique when redirecting to work a move off of play action; Defensive coaches are bound to be aware of Dominic’s ideal pass rusher skillset and I would suspect his recruitment to heat up before this season comes to an end.

Elijah Stevens Elijah Stevens 5’10” | 200 lbs | ATH Rockwood Summit | 2024 State MO immediately impressed me as a runner last Friday, and I am now convinced he is a legit playmaker in the 2024 class. Elijah showed good burst, balance, and quickness weaving through traffic and accelerating down the sidelines for big gains as an option pitch man. Strength showed bouncing off tackles at the line while good toughness got displayed finished forward and dragging defenders all night long. Elijah’s patience, playmaking ability, and acceleration in the open field solidified himself as a rising running back to watch this fall.

Nick Miller
Nick Miller
Despite Marquette giving up multiple big plays, Nick Miller showed some valuable next level traits Friday night. Nick’s awareness, acceleration, and physicality showed closing with urgency in zone coverage. Nick got caught a couple times in play action, but recruiters are sure to notice the quickness and smooth change of direction displayed after his recovery. Nick dissects passing schemes well and I would expect him to continue growing as a confident center fielder of the defense this fall. Good size and a desire to fill in the run game highlight Nick’s versatility at the next level.
Kamron Fowler Kamron Fowler WR MO
Kamron Fowler Kamron Fowler WR MO
Kamron seems to have made the final transition to wide receiver after a breakout performance Friday night. It didn’t take long for Kamron’s athleticism to flash, first adjusting at the catchpoint than making a defender miss with ease en route to his first touchdown of the night. Acceleration, vision, balance, and playmaking ability got displayed weaving through traffic to gain chunk yardage after catching a well-covered bubble screen; Coaches noticed Kamron’s size and strength as he bounced off tacklers to gain extra yardage all night. I believe Kamron’s elusiveness and vision in space combined with his experience all over an offensive backfield will lead to a unique role as a playmaker at the next level.
