North Point/SLUH/Marquette Joint Practice

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've been to a bunch of joint practices this summer to get a good look at some of the top football talent in the state, and an early look at how teams are progressing as pre-season camps begin in a little over a week. A recent one was held at North Point high school and featured some great competition, as well as some D1 talent, as SLUH and Marquette also participated. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>NORTH POINT</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1326743' first='Jeremiah' last='Mozee'] WR 2027<br>- One of the potential biggest sleepers in the class heading into this season. The talented Mozee was making plays all over the field showcasing his crisp route running ability, burst to get separation, and hands to make the grabs for big yardage and scores. He showed the ability as a sophomore but missed last season. Keep an eye on him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1923610' first='Alex' last='Graham'] QB 2027<br>- The man taking over the quarterback reigns after two consecutive highly productive quarterbacks for North Point is the athletic passer who was delivering accurate throws all practice for big plays. Graham had been a WR/DB but got some reps at QB before and really looked the part. He also is a dual threat and showed great understanding and running of the offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2226708' first='Tate' last='Gregory'] OL 2028<br>- A powerful young offensive lineman with good technique who is tough, physical and plays with an attitude. Gregory showed promise as a freshman and sophomore, but looks like he has taken his development to another level. Is a strong run blocker and does a nice job with his pass protection using quick feet and good hands.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>SLUH</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1752607' first='John' last='Ramella'] LB 2027<br>- This Northern Illinois commit continues to get better as a linebacker prospect every time I see him. He has good size and runs really well with the speed to cover a lot of ground. He's a hybrid who can play safety or linebacker and be put wherever he's needed on defense to make plays. Strong against the run or in pass coverage.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1742134' first='Henry' last='Fitzpatrick'] TE 2028<br>- Came away impressed with the versatility the junior showed playing inline tight end, in the slot or as an H-Back or in the backfield. He did a great job blocking and finishing his blocks. He also showed consistent ability to find space and get open. He also has reliable hands and made the catches I saw him targeted on. Henry also can play on the defensive side of the ball and looked like he will be a contributor at defensive end. He already holds a few D1 offers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1741247' first='Tristen' last='Johnson'] WR 2029<br>- One of the top recruits in the sophomore class in Missouri and the Midwest. Holds multiple D1 offers already and should really blow up this season as schools get to see what a weapon and mismatch he can be in the passing game. Runs like a receiver and has the height of a tight end at 6'6" with the frame to eventually grow into a tight end. Right now he looks like he'll be a great option in the Junior Billikens passing game in 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>MARQUETTE</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1726900' first='Andrew' last='Oldham'] DE 2027<br>- The 6'5" 250 Missouri State defensive end commit was dominant with his play all practice making multiple plays and putting consistent pressure on North Point and SLUH the entire time. Oldham looks poised for a big senior season based on the spring and summer he's had. His size, length, strength and motor make for a tough match up against most offensive linemen. He displayed a very quick first step and get off that had opposing coaches asking me who he was and what college he was going to.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2150182' first='Chace' last='Croghan'] OL 2027<br>- Another D1 lineman for the Mustangs but on the offensive side of the ball is the 6'6" 290 Croghan, who is committed to South Dakota. Chace has very good mobility and quick feet for a big man, which serves him well in both pass pro and with his run blocking. He displayed good technique and training, and good overall athleticism. He was dominant on the day.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eri'yon Wright WR/DB 2028<br>- A player who caught my eye on both sides or the ball, including really good receiving ability on offense, was the playmaking Wright. He showed good speed and ball skills at receiver making multiple after impressive grabs and runs after the catch, route running and burst to lose defenders. He is also a solid defensive back and has good ability on that side of the ball as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
