San Diego’s leader in passing yards (973) and TDs (13) continued his productive start to the season with 352 yards and 5 TDs on 42/53 passing in Kearny’s 42-13 win over Maranatha Christian. He also added 6 carries for 19 yards and a TD on the ground. The junior QB showed his finesse as a passer adding touch over the top of defenders and fitting the ball into tight windows toward the sideline. Kearny’s 9/29 road matchup with Hoover will feature two of San Diego’s most intriguing junior QB prospects in Stump and Kristian Noriega Kristian Noriega 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hoover | 2025 CA .
Sayin led Carlsbad to a 49-9 win over the 7th ranked team in Arizona- Casteel. He completed 15/18 passes for 248 yards and 3 TDs, including a perfectly-placed touch pass on the move to senior WR Jalen Saint Paul Jalen Saint Paul 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Carlsbad | 2024 State CA . Sayin and #8-Carlsbad are 4-0 with an average margin-of-victory above 35 points and one of the most effective offenses in the state early into the season.
Huhn led Mission Hills to a 41-12 win over Orange Vista with his second consecutive 3-TD performance. He’s shown elite potential as a pocket passer with ability to get the ball out on time, precise ball placement to every area of the field, and savvy ball-handling fundamentals. He possesses the physical tools and natural arm talent to develop into one of the state’s top 2026 QB prospects. Huhn just added an offer from Penn St. on Monday.
Roth and the LCC offense bounced back after facing a tough San Clemente defense last week. The sophomore QB threw for 244 yards and 3 TDs on 17/29 passing in the 38-7 win over Mira Mesa. He showed consistent accuracy on throws toward the sideline and comfortability navigating progressions from the pocket. La Costa travels to Fallbrook this Friday before starting Avocado League play.

Thompson threw for 310 yards and 4 TDs on 21/28 passing in Escondido’s 36-21 win over Vista. Escondido’s freshman QB has been productive early in his career with over 900 passing yards and 11 TDs in three starts, flashing promising accuracy and feel for the position. Thompson’s a 2027 QB to keep an eye on as he continues to develop throughout the season.
Highlights
Noriega continued to show great development as a passer in Hoover’s 49-17 win over Classical Academy, completing 9/15 passes for 229 yards and 3 TDs. He’s shown an ability to deliver the ball on time and lead his talented group of playmakers into space against coverage. Hoover’s offense has scored 45+ points in each of the team’s three wins.

Barton and the Mount Miguel offense continued their dominant play in their 66-20 win over Grossmont. The senior QB threw for 255 yards and 4 TDs, including a 90-yard strike to standout 2024 WR Jeremiah Castillo Jeremiah Castillo 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Mt. Miguel | 2024 State CA . He’s an athletic passer that can scramble outside the pocket finding receivers on the run and has the natural arm strength to produce explosive plays downfield. Barton has the Matadors’ offense operating at a high-level under the new coaching staff.
