About Brodie
Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Stump has kind of a funky delivery like Philip Rivers that is quick and from the side of his body. Despite the unorthodox mechanics, he is accurate down the field and his bread and butter is deep corner routes or fades against cover 2 defenses.
He avoids pressure well and is a big guy who is hard for defenders to bring down.

Stump set a San Diego Section record with 9 passing TDs and 428 yards in just three quarters of work in Kearny’s 60-0 win over O’Farrell Charter. The 6’3″/215 senior showed his ability to manage the pocket, avoid the rush, and find open WRs on the run on multiple TD throws. Stump leads all San Diego QBs in passing with over 1,600 yards and 23 TDs through five games.

Stump continued to build on the promise he showed as an underclassmen with 3,200 passing yards and 32 TDs as a junior in 2023. He’s a smooth, efficient passer from the pocket that shows great ball placement to all areas of the field and possesses the release time to get the ball out on quick-hitters. Pocket presence is one of his most glaring strengths on tape: he stands tall, is consistently scanning the field, feels the pressure, and buys himself time with plus-side mobility as an improviser (6 rush TDs as a junior). Stump, PRZ’s #2-ranked QB in San Diego, has drawn interest from several Ivy League programs and was just recently invited to Elite 11 regionals in March.

was one of the leading passers in San Diego for the 2025 class last season with 289 yards per game and completing 72 percent of his passes.
He is tall, lanky and uses his height to deliver the ball at a high release point. He is very accurate over the middle and has good timing with his receivers.
Stump has the athleticism to extend plays with his legs and escape the pocket. Sometimes I’d like to see him go through his progressions faster, but the game will slow down for him with more experience.
