This list will come with plenty of new names to our radar with plenty of prospects on this list really showing their versatility on both sides of the ball. Let’s meet Week 3’s North Dakota Big Dogs of the Week!
Damarion Semanko
Damarion Semanko
Stat Line: 18 carries, 128 rushing yards, four touchdowns, two pass breakups, two tackles.
The patience and burst that Damarion shows right up the A-gap was intriguing to watch in Week 3, as it’s clear this young man has a well-built football IQ as he runs with fluid instinct in my eyes. He shows off versatility in his running ability as well, as a running back that can run east-west with plenty of power to run thru contact or see the field quickly with his awareness around the outside edges. Damarion also shows off smooth footwork at strong safety and played with some glue instincts that stuck to the GFC receiving core with ease on the reps I watched. Certainly a prospect that has some NAIA offers that could certainly attract more NSIC attention as his versatility on both sides of the ball has some upside. Twitter
Stat Line: TBD
Michael has gotten more fluid with his mobility outside of the pocket since my last tape-evaluation, as his tape against Mandan showed off plenty of range with his frame and the longer strides he shows off. He also has a reactive quick release that got put on display against the Braves as Michael was effective with his arm strength especially on intermediate routes. Michael shows off a QB prospect that is seeing the field much smoother and with a quicker twitch off the snap to set the tone for his reps on tape. He also is more durable with his inside runs than he gets credit for, as he has some downhill running ability that reads the gaps well with his vision. The 5’11 185 quarterback from last year’s runner up in Bismarck Century would be a prospect I would offer in the coming weeks or sooner. Twitter

Stat Line: NA
The biggest skillset Hudson has shown me since I watched him at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, is how much more agile he has gotten off the snap, as he shows that quickly in his Week 3 tape against West Fargo Horace. Hudson has also turned up his reaction time with his hands, as he shows off quicker change of direction with his hand placement. Hudson showed off a center that has gotten more violent from summer camps to early into his senior season as a OC that also has developed with coaching with his downhill footwork. I certainly believe his recruiting trail should amp up by mid-season or sooner as Hudson has shown plenty of development with his overall technique. Twitter

Stat Line: TBD
Ty certainly showed off how much durability this young man has in his arsensal especially around the edges of the field against Hazen last week as without the stats in front of me, I would imagine he racked up plenty of yards after contact. Ty showed off his mean stiff-arm and also showed more catchy agility with his footwork when progressing with his inside running ability in the box as a RB prospect that is workhorse for those extra yards. He also popped out on tape at linebacker, as Ty shows off that quick trigger with his speed to finesse the ball carrier within the backfield early. He also showed off fluid hands defensively, which to me points out as an outside linebacker at the next-level, but has the position flexibility for either side of the ball. Another North Dakota prospect that I would offer right now, as I am beyond surprised he doesn’t have an offer yet. Twitter

Taking a look at our Prep Redzone Dakotas linebacker MVP from last Spring, Oakes athlete Trey Skoglund Trey Skoglund 6’0″ | 190 lbs | ATH Oakes | 2024 State ND showed off how dimensional he is on both sides of the ball is just 2.5 quarters of work in last week’s game against Oak Grove Lutheran. Trey plays so much longer than his measurables will show you, as his first play on tape he shows fluidity with that long lower body to take a screen pass with balance around the edges of the field for a touchdown. He shows off what is a swiss-army knife offensively, that will persistently keep the defense on their toes with where he is in the formation. Defensively, Trey stands out as a textbook tackler with plenty of force when he makes contact at the point of attack even with a short stride to the ball. Trey shows yet another workhorse for extra yards, as he took an army from Oak Grove Lutheran deep into his game tape for extra yards. I would love to see Trey get some NSIC attention from local schools around the upper Dakotas and Minnesota, as a linebacker that I believe is under the radar and due for a significant jump when we uncover our 2024 rankings here soon. Stat Line: TBD
Ben showed off the development I saw this summer with the speed of his quick release as this kid was firing on all cylinders against Des Lac-Burlington last Friday. He showed off some intriguing smooth progressions within his intermediate routes as well as you can tell he’s growing plenty of chemistry with his Aggies receiving core. Ben also sparked on tape with his precision on deep routes, placing his ball on a line that allowed his wide receivers to grab & go thru the air and showed off excellent touch when he extended. The arm strength Ben shows off has showed steady growth from my evaluation over the summer, as a 2025 quarterback that should certainly get some next-level attention that seems to gravitate week after week with his growth. Stat Line: Two touchdowns
Zach showed off how much of a weapon he is on offense, having the only two touchdowns for the Fargo Davies Eagles last Friday night. This kid shows off a quick reactive instinct in the backfield as an east-west runner that runs with plenty of finish with his athletic running ability. Zach also shows off plenty lasting ability running thru contact as this 5’11 205 pounder showed that consistently on tape last week within the inside box. Zach certainly showed off a rumbler of a fullback built with a running back body as a top 15 prospect in North Dakota’s 2024 class. No offers yet, however Zach certainly made some noise last week with his versatility he showed on the offensive side of the ball. Twitter

One of the top quarterbacks in North Dakota’s 2026 class in Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood had an impressive outing last week as he showed off some fluid quick reads within his first clips on tape. He showed some locked-in awareness especially with his vision over the top of the Tioga secondary leading his team 22-6 as they enter Week 4 at 3-0. The awareness this young man showed off is going to be a blast to watch for over the coming years, as a first time nominee this week for our North Dakota Big Dog of the Week.
