Another week of high school football is upon us in Pennsylvania, here are our key matchups in Districts 2, 4, and 6 this weekend.

District 2:

Delaware Valley vs. Downingtown East

In this great non-conference matchup, we have the Delaware Valley Warriors looking to win No.1 on their season as they take on the Downingtown East Cougars, who are 2-0 on the season. Despite the tough start to their season, Del Val is still one of the better District 2 programs and should have a strong season this fall.

The key matchup we will be watching in this one is how Downingtown East linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='894756' first='Ryan' last='Shannon'] can match up with Delaware Valley tight end [player_tooltip player_id='91569' first='Aiden' last='Black'], a Stanford commit in pass coverage. Black is one of the best tight ends in the entire state of Pennsylvania and should be a strong test for this Downingtown East defense. Through two games this season, Black has two receptions for 19 yards. Through the early weeks, he notably has been more productive on the defensive side of the ball with nine tackles, including 3.0 sacks. It would be intriguing to see him line up potentially against [player_tooltip player_id='558284' first='Ryan' last='Konchek'] or [player_tooltip player_id='377053' first='Adham' last='Abouraya'] when on defense. Justin Klatisnik is another player to watch for Delaware Valley in this one.

Crestwood vs. Wyoming Area

Another quality matchup here in District 2 is Crestwood vs. Wyoming Area. Crestwood is off to a slow start this year and has struggled in second halves, while Wyoming Valley is off to a 2-0 start. The matchup that I'd really like to watch here is how Crestwood can contain Wyoming Area running back [player_tooltip player_id='377195' first='Aaron' last='Crossley']. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='598804' first='Lincoln' last='Bibla'] will be a key player on that Crestwood defense to watch this week.

District 4:

Jersey Shore vs. Selinsgrove

A matchup of a pair of 2-0 teams looking to vie for conference supremacy this fall. Jersey Shore's offense has been unstoppable this season, much like last year, averaging over 500 yards of total offense over their first two games. Selingsgove has a pretty strong offense themselves, averaging 30 points per game and over 350 yards of total offense. But can the Seals' defense stop the Bulldogs enough to keep them in this one?

Plenty of talent to watch in this game, including Jersey Shore's [player_tooltip player_id='386103' first='Elijah' last='Jordan'], Jerrin Looms, and [player_tooltip player_id='377549' first='Dyson' last='Delaney'], while Selinsgrove features a great backfield duo of [player_tooltip player_id='164521' first='Mark' last='Pastore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='256157' first='Tucker' last='Teats'].

Southern Columbia vs. Loyalsock Township

There will be talent all up and down the field in this one, with over 10 players between the two teams ranked in our class rankings. Southern Columbia, looking to defend their crown, is off to a phenomenal start, outscoring their opponents 91-0 so far this season. They'll have their biggest challenge yet this season in Loyalsock on Friday night. After surviving Berks Catholic in week one, Loyalsock defeated Hughesville last week 46-0, setting up this big early-season matchup against Southern Columbia.

Key matchups in this one include Loyalsock wide receivers [player_tooltip player_id='241054' first='Jamaire' last='Harden'] and [player_tooltip player_id='557200' first='Jaylen' last='Andrews'] against Southern Columbia's [player_tooltip player_id='558407' first='Jacob' last='Hoy']. Likewise, can [player_tooltip player_id='91608' first='Logan' last='Bastian'] and the Loyalsock Township defense slow down [player_tooltip player_id='269065' first='Blake' last='Wise'] and [player_tooltip player_id='399258' first='Garrett' last='Garcia'] in the Tigers backfield?

District 6

Penn Cambria vs. Forest Hills

These two programs had a tremendous matchup last season in which Penn Cambria came out on top 49-34. This year, they're 1-1 after losing to Richland in week one; they bounced back for a 34-3 last weekend over Phillipsburg-Osceol. Forest Hills is 2-0, on the other hand, after collecting wins over Greater Johnstown and Clearfield over their first two weeks.

Forest Hills is a team I'd like to dig more into, but QB [player_tooltip player_id='1131215' first='Nate' last='Cornell'] is intriguing, as is linebacker Xander Richardson. For Penn Cambrai, wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='598932' first='Gavin' last='Harrold'] is a name that stands out, as well as running backs Thomas Punkett and Drew Mardula.

State College vs. Hollidaysburg

Another matchup full of talent, this will be a fun one in Hollidaysburg on Friday night. State College is off to a quality start this season, especially offensively, while the Hollidaysburg defense has been strong to start the season.

State College has several of the best talents in the state, including RB [player_tooltip player_id='402439' first='D'Antae' last='Sheffey'], TE [player_tooltip player_id='557731' first='Jake' last='Hohenshelt'], and LB [player_tooltip player_id='269136' first='Michael' last='Gaul']. For Hollidaysburg, wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='558283' first='Caden' last='DeLattre'] is a standout to know, as is offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='855503' first='Hunter' last='Albright'] and wide receiver Gavin Bell.
