Second on that long list is [player_tooltip player_id='399297' first='Ryan' last='Puglisi'], who happens to land one spot behind Reno on our ranks. Deciding between the two from afar is like splitting hairs. Some might like Puglisi, the Georgia-commit presenting a slightly better frame. I still haven't come across a passer more fluid with the football. Effortless release, a compact, seasoned pre-snap base that makes everything post-throw look exemplary. Incredible depth perception, incredible ball placement, and downfield judgment. The Virginia commit mingled with the names mentioned above, yet the exodus of talent leaves Ward as the lone pass-catcher having committed to a Power Five school. Lambert, who was dropped just one spot this update, rivals some of the best linemen to rank inside the top three across the East Coast. You can make the case that Lambert is better than every PA 2024 lineman, might be able to say the same for New York. Identifying the top kid in each class is relatively easy, as most blossom early in development. I still remember this time last year, finding [player_tooltip player_id='384236' first='Luke' last='Reynolds'], watching him perform against a loaded Hun School program, a program he had no problem showing up against. No offers at the time, kind of a u0022Who is this kidu0022 moment. Reynolds was showing off his capabilities at QB, LB, TE, all in front of me for the first time. I proceeded to rank him inside the top 150, then a jump into the top ten, now to the one spot. Quite the story, one I'll tell people about for years to come.rnrnCan't speak enough about the young man's work ethic, the attention to detail he attributes to the game. Love the growth in terms of body and frame, his profile picture doesn't do his build justice. Wherever Penn State decides to play this young man, he's going to succeed. In all honesty, it's tough to rank guys like Umeh, Andrews, and Newby, for obvious reasons. All three are worthy of this spot, all three garnered consideration, yet the spot ultimately went to the 6'5, 260-pound defender out of Avon Old Farms. Talking with prominent coaches actively recruiting Umeh before his commitment, they spoke about Umeh's future potential coupled with the tools he already possesses. [player_tooltip player_id='388235' first='Elijah' last='Newby'], the second PAC-12 commit on this list, stakes his claim as the prospect with the highest upside. Although I believe that to be Umeh, choosing Newby as the potential future All-American makes sense as well. At this level, [player_tooltip player_id='388235' first='Elijah' last='Newby'] fits the prototypical build of a freak OLB who is proficient in pass coverage, who can rush the passer, who can set the edge. That guy offensive coordinators have nightmares about, that guy looks and is shaped like [player_tooltip player_id='388235' first='Elijah' last='Newby'], What's worse, Newby can double as a TE prospect if need be, at least at this level.
