Week 3 Recap

One of the most surprising scores of last week came from the Omaha Westside Bellevue West game where the Westside Warriors continued their march through their schedule beating the Thunderbirds 45-12. [player_tooltip player_id='250052' first='Jahmez' last='Ross'] and [player_tooltip player_id='250051' first='Anthony' last='Rezac'] made the game an offensive fireworks show. In Kearney the Bearcats took care of business against the undefeated Lincoln North Star Navigators. The Bearcats defense stood strong the entire game holding the navigators to only a touchdown on the day. The Bearcats offense was explosive scoring 28 points in the first half. [player_tooltip player_id='250659' first='Eli' last='Randolph'] lead the Bearcat's offense in touchdowns against LNHS. For the final game from last week we had a great march between Bennington and York. Bennington scored well in the first half going up 14-6 against the Dukes. This was a defensive game through out the Badgers only survived due to their defense holding along with a punt return and a run. A classic Nebraska Friday Night game.

Douglas County West @ Boone Central

Boone Central has had an great season this year. Their offense has been nothing but explosive and has dominated every team they have played. They have outscored opponents 125-7 before this week. Their defense has been nothing but spectacular as well only allowing one touchdown all season. [player_tooltip player_id='846302' first='James' last='Fogleman'] leads the offense with an inane 30 completions for 564 yards and 5 passing TDs. He also has 119 yards for 3 touchdowns on the ground. They also have running backs Parker Boerer and [player_tooltip player_id='250624' first='Hank' last='Hudson'] both combining for 5 more touchdowns and 755 total rushing yards in 4 games. Hank also is dominant on defense with 37 total tackles and 2 TFLs. [player_tooltip player_id='1030037' first='Caden' last='Stokes'] also has over 30 tackles. The Falcons of DC West have also had a very solid season offensively. The Falcons have outscored their opponents 125-20. Their offense has been lead by [player_tooltip player_id='516217' first='Jonas' last='Meairs-Richman'] who has 12 completions for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also has 5 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. Brady Slinger leads the rushing game with 52 carries for 433 yards and 7 total touchdowns. The Falcon's defense is lead by Meairs-Richman as well with 23 total tackles along with Charlie Wood who has 21 tackles and a TFL. This undefeated matchup has major implications on the class C-1 playoff.

Millard South @ Gretna

Millard South has some elite wins this year especially over Millard West and Elkhorn South leading to their 3-0 season so far. Being led on offense by [player_tooltip player_id='250254' first='Nolan' last='Feller'], Ean Langer, and [player_tooltip player_id='487568' first='Amarion' last='Jackson']. Nazaire Djissenou. The balance between these two sides of the ball have led to dominance during this part of the season. Gretna has had a similar year as well scoring at least 40 points in their first two games before scraping an overtime win over Creighton Prep in Week 3. [player_tooltip player_id='559364' first='Alex' last='Wilcoxson'] has been a solid quarterback with him rushing and throwing the ball all season along with him [player_tooltip player_id='340488' first='Isaiah' last='Weber'] at running back. On defense the dragons have been led by [player_tooltip player_id='974032' first='Blake' last='Hawkins'] along with [player_tooltip player_id='340488' first='Isaiah' last='Weber'] as well domaining both sides of the ball. Class A has been all over the place this year and this game has the potential to establish who will be favored going into the later parts of the season.

Elkhorn @ Skutt Catholic

Skutt and Elkhorn have some of the best games in recent memory. This game between these two schools is a Class B classic. Last season the Antlers took the game with a 34-13 point win over Skutt. This year the Skyhawks are looking for revenge. Since their week one loss to Bennington outscoring their two opponents 87-24 going into the game with Elkhorn. Elkhorn has had a bit harder of a season where they've had only close games all season. Dropping their first game to Waverly Elkhorn then went to Norris and came back with a two point victory. Then They beat Gross by two scores at home. For Elkhorn their defense needs to step up and hold the Skyhawks offense. For Skutt Catholic they need to dominate on all sides of the ball and carry the game away.
