Radford Bobcats (6-1) vs Glenvar Highlanders (5-0)
Sept. 29, 7:00 pm
A Three Rivers District matchup. Glenvar remains the only undefeated team, and Radford is one of three one-loss teams. Should be in for a great matchup in this one as the battle for the top team is coming down to the final weeks.
Players to Watch –
Charlie Davis LB, Radford
Charlie can be found making plays for Radford’s defense. He mans the MLB position and can play on the ball to provide a rush and off the ball to spy the QB and provide coverage. He displays good processing to diagnose the offensive play and has a knack for shedding blocks and positioning himself to make a play with with very good finish on the ball carrier.
Landen Clark QB, FS, Radford
Landen displays a strong arm and when he can set his feet, he throws a beautiful ball to his WRs in stride. Landon also displays good athleticism to move in the pocket and throw on the run and he is able to run the ball himself if he finds no open receivers. He also shared he recently received his first D1 offer from Morehead State.
Nathan Johnson DE, Glenvar
Nathan displays good height and a relentless motor on the field. He has a good rip move that allows him to get inside on Tackles and shed the block, and he can also place his hand under the shoulder pad of the Tackle in an outside rush and drive him into the QB. Against the run, he is able to get his hands inside of the lineman and throw him away upon reading the RBs cut to make a tackle.

Peyton is a do-it-all player for Glenvar, lining up at OLB, WR, and Returner. He displays good zone coverage as an OLB, keeping his head on a swivel to read the QB to disrupt the pass, and has good hands to make an interception. As a WR and Returner, he is an elusive runner with good vision who can make his way through traffic and displays some power as a ball carrier to lower his shoulder and fall forward when tackled. The Junior player also was WFXRsports FNB Player of the Week in week 3 of this season.
Twin Springs Titans (4-0) vs Union Bears (4-2)
Sept. 29, 7:00 pm
A non-division matchup, the Titans have scored at least 42 points in every game and have given up no more than 16, outscoring their opponents 193-42. The Bears have played in two more games, resulting in week 1 and week 4 losses. Nonetheless, they have shown the ability to be high-scoring and play tough defense recording three shutout victories and outscoring their opponents 149-48.
Players to Watch –
Abel Dingus QB, Twin Springs
Abel displays good mental processing as the QB of Twin Springs’ triple-option offense. He also displays solid speed and physical toughness in his runs, not shying away from contact. He displays good pocket awareness and his throw does have air under it but has good accuracy on the target.
Colten Kilgore RB, WR, Twin Springs
Colten is an elusive RB and runs the 100-meter dash in 11.72 seconds. He proves to be a dangerous weapon playing one of the RB positions in the triple-option. He is shifty at the line as the dive back and can find his way through traffic. As the pitch back, his good speed takes over as he can outrun DBs angles to pick up extra yardage.

Kam displays good foot speed on the field as a CB and WR for Union. As a WR, he is utilized in many short route concepts that get him the ball quickly so he can utilize his good speed and vision to create yards after the catch. As a CB, he plays in off coverage and keeps cushion against the WR. He has good recognition of routes and quickly reacts to the throw to make a play on the WR.

Even as a sophomore, Paul already displays the ability to manipulate his routes against DBs by changing his speed, double moves, and head fakes. He can adjust to underthrown balls, and complete the contested catch. He is a player to keep your eye on over the next couple of years.
Louisa County Lions (3-1) vs Monticello Mustangs (3-1)
Sept. 29, 7:00 pm
A Jefferson Division match, these two teams sit at the top along with one-loss Fluvanna County who both teams have yet to play. A win here can be key to winning the division at the end of the season.

Braden plays with good physical toughness and it shows up best on film when he pull blocks. He displays good quickness off the snap and creates good explosion into his blocks. He is short for an offensive lineman, but his competitive toughness and good lower body strength show up on the defensive line as he is able to anchor himself at the line of scrimmage and stuff the run with good tackling ability. Look for him to be a key factor for his team this week.
Isaiah Haywood, RB, DB, Louisa County
Isaiah has good feel as a ball carrier, displaying patience to find the hole with good burst out of his cuts. He runs with physicality, not shying away from contact but willing to lower his shoulder and gain extra yards. He has good top-end speed that can outrun DBs and can track down ball carriers when he is playing on defense.

Called “an incredible talent” by his coach, Ezekiel has been a weapon this year for Monticello with 418 all-purpose yards, 5 TDs, 18 Tackles, and 1 interception through four games as a Junior. He is small at 5’9″ and 10 lbs, but he runs with good power and speed. He displays good patience to find the hole and runs with good physical toughness up the middle, lowering his shoulder to fall forward when tackled. In space, he displays good linear speed and solid elusiveness. As a CB, he is good at containment on run plays and has good tackling ability.
Owen Engel, QB, Monticello
Owen displays good arm accuracy and strength as a QB both in the pocket and on the run in Monticello’s PA rollout passing schemes. He does have a long throwing motion, but the ball gets to the WR quickly. At 6’2″, he has good height for a QB but could add some more mass to his frame.
Christiansburg Blue Demons (6-0) vs Riverheads Gladiators (3-1)
Sept. 29, 7:00 pm
Another non-division matchup that should be a great game as the Riverheads travel to Christiansburg. The Riverheads have not lost since their week one matchup against Central Falcons in a 7-8 final score and have scored 35, 28, and 37 points in the three games after. Christiansburg has held four teams to 10 or fewer points and shut out two of those teams.

At 6’8″ 315 lbs, Carter has elite size for an Offensive Tackle and has already received a number of offers from D1 schools. He has very good strength and is able to drive defensive linemen off the ball in run blocking. When he gets his hands on pass rushers, he has a good grip that prevents pass rushers from utilizing counter moves, and he has a good anchor to stop the bull rush.
Jeremiah Thompson, LB, Christiansburg
Jeremiah plays with good instincts and play recognition. He has a good ability to fill his gap and tackle the ball carrier with good strength and physical toughness. His good play recognition allows him to play sideline-to-sideline and disrupt an offense. Expect to see him disrupting the Riverheads offense this week.

Donovan possesses a quick first step that allows him to quickly get off the snap playing both DE and TE. His speed makes him tough to block as a DE and he can make plays down the line of scrimmage. He shows good physical toughness in his blocking at TE and good leg drive through the block. Look for him making plays this week for Christiansburg on both sides of the ball.
Daniel Heath, DB, RB, Riverheads
Daniel is a hard-hitting, physical safety who is willing to step up and play the run and not allow the ball carrier to get past the second level. In pass coverage, he tends to play with cushion and will look to make a big hit once the WR touches the ball.
