However, there is a lot of really impressive football being played up there, specifically in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. In the article below we’re looking at 10 class of 2028 (currently in eighth-grade) quarterbacks from Washington that are hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Evergreen State NFL Pro-Bowl’ers such as Drew Bledsoe, Chris Chandler and Mark Rypien. Take a look!
Aloalii Tuivaiave, better-known as AJ Tuivaiave AJ Tuivaiave 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB WA , is my top quarterback in Washington for the class of 2028 as of early September 2023. Love his size and frame–don’t have measurements, but I’d be willing to be he’s in the 6-foot-2, 165 pound range. He’s currently QB1 for Gridiron AIGA and a dual-threat kid that can hurt ya with his legs in addition to well-placed deep balls. Also plays defensive end on the defensive side of the ball and like a carnivore, gets after the other team’s quarterback. As a quarterback, I could NFL comparison would be CJ Stroud of the Houston Texans.

Another 2028 quarterback that is bigger and taller in stature, is Antoine Williams Jr Antoine Williams Jr 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB WA . The big righty, who’s instagram is Baby Cam 2.0, paying homage to Cam Newton, is also likely in that same 6-foot-2 range that AJ Tuivaiave AJ Tuivaiave 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB WA is right now. While Tuivaiave is more of a dual-threat kid, Williams Jr. butters his bread from the pocket. The starting quarterback for the Benson Bruins this year, he throws a nice ball on intermediate and deep pass plays, specifically between the hashes. Has a bit of a funky throwing motion and has room to improve overall mobility, but has a lot of the physical tools.
Abbot doesn’t have the height of Tuivaiave or Williams Jr. at this point, but the kid flat out produces on the gridiron. Heading up an explosive offense for the Heir 13U team this season, he’s a confident kid that has leadership qualities on top of his football ability. Phenomenal footwork after the snap allows him to roll out in either direction and re-set the pocket. Very impressive ability to flip his hips on the move and deliver accurate passes to any of his playmakers. One of the more impressive 2028 athletes from Washington at the QB position, Abbot qualified for the USATF Nationals in the Pentathalon this July–his first year competing in the grueling event.

Getting back to the bigger 2028 quarterbacks in Washington, Jayden Baum Jayden Baum 6’0″ | 200 lbs | QB WA is one that has caught my eye. Baum, who also goes by “JJ”, is listed at 6-foot and 200 pounds. He’s built like an offensive guard or defensive end and it wouldn’t shock me if he was really closer to 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds. With that unique stature for a quarterback comes impressive arm strength. Obviously I can’t say for certain, but Baum has to be near, or at the top of the list, when it comes to arm strength. After getting over some nagging injuries throughout the winter, he’s back at the helm for the B12P Bearcats in 2023.
I try my best to not judge a book by its cover and kids like Jenner Smith Jenner Smith 5’8″ | 135 lbs | QB WA are exactly why. At first, and admittedly even a second look, there wasn’t much from an eye-test POV that jumped off the page at me. He’s undersized at this point and doesn’t appear to be developed physically. However, the kid is tough, he’s a proven winner and it clicks for him mentally. Smith is your prototypical field general who gets the ball out to his playmakers quickly and accurately, which allows them to do their thing. Once he matures and develops a bit more physically, we’ll have a better idea of his true football ceiling. May project to a defensive back or linebacker by the time all is said and done.

Jordan Meas Jordan Meas 5’9″ | 145 lbs | QB WA is a quarterback I’m very intrigued by, for a number of reasons. Right off the bat, if you’re lining up for Team FSP, you have more talent and ability than most at whatever level you play for. Without exact measurements I can’t say for certain, but Meas looks to have decent height and weight–not the biggest in this write up, but certainly nowhere near the smallest. He plays the position at a high level and his accuracy is uncanny. On film he does a great job of taking what the defense gives him and doesn’t over-complicate things. While it may “look cooler” to throw a risky deep ball for a big play, Meas has no problem checking down and making the smart play, rather than the highlight play. I like this young man a lot and think he has a lot of potential.
Quarterback Julien Woodruff Julien Woodruff 5’10” | 140 lbs | QB WA is another athletic PNW dual-threat quarterback. In full disclosure, I haven’t seen as much of Woodruff as I have the other quarterback’s on this list, but I certainly see some positive things in the limited film I’ve watched. First thing, I love that he’s not a robot and he’s very capable of improvising when a play breaks down. He has the foot speed and vision to be able to run towards the boundary, while still looking downfield. Doubling down on the point that he’s not a robot, time and time again Woodruff has show the ability to make off-platform throws. No coach in America loves when a quarterback throws off their back foot while falling away, but Woodruff does it somewhat regularly with success. Additionally, he also does the high jump and long jump in track and field.

Stop me if you’ve read this before during this write up, but we have another big-bodied 2028 Washington quarterback. As I’m doing this write up I’m starting to really struggle labeling Kale Lundvall Kale Lundvall 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB WA of Lake Stevens as a quarterback, because at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds he may be more of an ATH (Athlete) than any other position. He’s a tough, physical kid that also lines up at middle linebacker during 7v7 with Team ETA, but looking at him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he out-grew the position and ended up as an Edge rusher. Looking at tackle film from a year ago versus 7v7 film from this past spring, he has improved his speed and overall agility a ton over the last calendar year. The jury is still out on if quarterback is where he’ll end up, but the multi-sport athlete is certainly a prospect to keep a close eye on.
Kenzo Seniours Kenzo Seniours QB WA is another Washington 2028 quarterback that I admittedly have only seen a little bit of. With that said, I like the way Seniours plays the position at this stage of the game. He’s not the biggest kid in the world by any stretch, but he’s an exciting player to watch with the ball in his hands. Also a track guy, he runs the 100M in the mid-low 12’s which isn’t anything crazy. Yet, when watching him move around on the football field for the Orting Cardinals, he looks like he’s moving significantly faster. Speaking of fast, Kenzo is the younger brother of 2027 (freshman) running back Shiron Seniours Shiron Seniours 5’7″ | 165 lbs | RB Orting | 2027 WA , who scored four touchdowns in his most recent game for Orting High School.
Excluding Jordan Meas Jordan Meas 5’9″ | 145 lbs | QB WA , all the Washington 2028 quarterbacks in this write up are either quite large or on the smaller side when comparing them to other eighth-grade signal callers around the country. The final quarterback in this write up (listed alphabetically by first name) is on the smaller side, but putting points up can help people look past stature (to an extent), and that’s what Rashawn Tymony Rashawn Tymony QB WA has done throughout his youth career. Tymony, a dual-threat quarterback that is certainly pass-first, is a multi-sport athlete and it shows. The kid competes hard and is pretty balanced in his ability to throw or run. On the point of being able to run, he’s fresh off a spring track season that saw him do his part to push South Shore to win the Seattle Public School Team Championship, as a member of the 4×200 championship team.
