The game will be played at Forest Park High School due to the construction of the Red Wolves new turf not being ready quite yet. This game is obviously important for both schools as we are just a little over a month out until District playoffs begin. Since their drubbing of Unity Reed week Gar-Field has struggled losing their last three contests, including a 60-0 shutout against Freedom last Friday. Coach Keihling’s team will be fired up tonight expect him to rely on their rushing attack to try and control the clock.
For the Sharks they are coming off their bye week and are feeling pretty good after they took Osbourn Park to the woodshed two weeks ago, beating them 55-0. Under Coach Scott Colgan’s message has been clear, playoffs or bust, will find out more after their showdown tonight. For now here are some players to watch:
Tyler Henry
Tyler Henry
One of the conference leaders in touchdowns and all purpose yards is senior wide receiver Tyler Henry, if you follow our site you should know I think this young man’s upside is through the roof. Henry can beat you in multiple ways whether its catching a long touchdown pass or pulling a Devin Hester on a punt return to the house. The kid is a major part of the Sharks offense, where he goes Colgan goes. Look for Coach Scott to get the ball to him early and often, as he is the type of playmaker that can win you a game by himself.
Ethan Norah

Colgan’s defense is pretty stout minus a second half hiccup against Lake Braddock, the Sharks get after you and junior linebacker Ethan Norah is one you cannot outrun. Two weeks ago in their thrashing of Osbourn Park, Norah blocked a punt and had the ability to scope and nearly score on the return. Trust me this is harder to do than most may think, but the way he was able to recover the ball and rumble towards the endzone made this writer a believer. He has a tall task tonight with Gar-Field’s awesome ground game, do not be surprised if he has over 10 tackles.

Alexander Labenow
Alexander Labenow
Two year start at center Alex “the bear” Labenow is a part of a very good offensive line for the Red Wolves, one that will be looking to clear holes to get their ground game going. Labenow is a very technically sound center you can see why schools such as Pace University are pinning for his services. Here is what I wrote about him before the season:
One of the best centers in the Cardinal District and quite frankly the state Alexander “Bear” Labenow is back protecting his quarterback for 2023. Standing at 5’11 and north of 220 lbs. Labenow may not be the biggest lineman in the league but he is certainly one of the strongest. Jumping in at center last season he was credited with not 1 sack allowed, think about that for a second. Not 1 sack allowed is impressive enough considering he just started working at the position makes it even better.rnhttps://twitter.com/alex_labenow06/status/1595440352508678144?s=20
Herman “Action” Jackson is the Red Wolves speedster running back, who in week 1 gashed Unity Reed for nearly 200 yards rushing. One of the league leaders in rushing, Jackson will look to get back on track as he had been held in check the last couple of games. He has speed, vision and power and is only a junior, a lot of time for more college coaches to start to recognize this outstanding talent. After his performance against the Lions here is what I wrote about him:
Thee star of the night was this young man Herman “Action” Jackson as he ran over/under/around and through the Unity Reed defense. Jackson had over 20 carries for nearly 170 yards rushing with two touchdowns. The way he has been working and performing he will be a name to know in the Cardinal district. A very humble young man who has a bright future, I expect him to receive all-conference honors this year.rnhttp://www.hudl.com/v/2LYHmC
