Week One: Star Watch

From players who put up big numbers, to teams that handed out blowout losses to their opponents, there were some standout performances in week one that set the tone around the State of Texas. Lloyd is a powerful runner, who has great patience in the hole, he reads his blocks well and his explosion in the open field allows him to separate from defenders at the second level. Avant has the build and the skill set tailor made for the next level. Lloyd committed to Tulsa over the summer and is poised to lead Summer Creek back to the playoffs in 2023. Keelon threw for 366 yards and 4 touchdowns on the night, with 3 of those going to LSU commit [player_tooltip player_id='281635' first='Dakorien' last='Moore']. Russell shows great poise under pressure, he navigates the pocket like a veteran and his ability to throw on the run avoiding the rush are traits that were on display against South Oak Cliff. Keelon's recruiting stock is on a steady climb, schools from the around the country have made it their business to get eyes on him and Ole Miss, SMU, North Texas and Oklahoma  State are just a few who are heavy on Russell. Donte put in work on the ground rushing for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 63-49 win. Lewis is a threat through the air and on the ground, who can beat you with his quick release or his nifty footwork when he breaks containment. Donte sees the field well, he keeps his vision on his target while going through his progressions and he has the arm strength to make all of the throws on the route tree. Lewis a dynamic athlete, who has committed to Kansas State to play baseball, but as the season progresses, collegiate programs will drop offers for football as well. Bailey is a threat in the running game, also strolling in for a rushing TD against The Woodlands. Bailey has a compact, stout build, with a powerful lower torso and he stands tall in the pocket to deliver strikes to all corners of the field.
