Today, we will be taking a closer look at some of the most impressive teams in Region 4A as we evaluate Warren East High School, exploring their record, performance and some explosive playmakers on the Raiders’ roster that are returning to the field this upcoming fall. Without any further ado, here’s my 2023-24 preview of the Warren East Raiders.
Warren East closed out the season with a 12-1 overall record as well as a 4-0 mark in 4A District 2. The Raiders additionally posted a 8-1 record in home games as well as a 4-0 mark in away contests. Under Warren East head coach Jeff Griffith, the Raiders put up 554 points while allowing opponents only 226 points. In 13 contests, Parsley was the top passer and ground weapon on the Raiders’ roster, recording 124 completions out of 203 attempts for 1,880 yards and 30 touchdowns as well as 148 rush attempts for 1,562 yards and 27 touchdowns. Finishing in the number three spot on my list is Jackson McCool Jackson McCool 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Warren East | 2025 KY , a 5-foot-10, 200-pound linebacker that made his presence known for Warren East on the defensive side of the ball during his sophomore stint of high school football last season. In 13 contests, McCool picked up 38 total tackles, including 33 solo stops and five assisted takedowns. McCool additionally forced two fumbles as well as made two fumble recoveries. What makes McCool such an efficient defensive weapon is his size, speed and quick execution off the snap, showing off his ability to apply pressure on the quarterback and contain offensive playmakers.

What stands out about Collins is his ability to read the offense like a book and quickly pounce on the quarterback, showcasing his defensive awareness and durable edge.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is Maddox Tarrence, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound linebacker that made a significant impact for Warren East’s defense during his junior season of high school football. In 13 games, Tarrence collected a total of 69 tackles, including 64 solo stops, five assisted takedowns and 2.5 sacks. The rising senior out of Bowling Green, KY. additionally forced one fumble, made one fumble recovery and hauled in four interceptions for 103 yards and one defensive touchdown. What stands out about Tarrence is his ability to consistently overpower the offense and make stops, exerting his strength and durability to disrupt the offense and make significant stops.
