The Bishop Manogue Miners are coming off a strong 11-3 season in which they captured the 5A Northern League title and dominated in-state opponents with the exception of Bishop Gorman in the 5A state-championship. They'll be looking for better results vs. out-of-state opponents, Jesuit and Central Catholic, after finishing 0-2 vs. Bingham (UT) and Jesuit last season. They return key playmakers on both sides of the ball including their 2022 season leaders in nearly every statistical category outside of QB.
Offense

Bishop Manogue's offense returns its leading rusher from last season, [player_tooltip player_id='819532' first='Cody' last='Fleischmann']. Fleischmann was one of the more productive RBs in 2022 totaling over 1100 yards and 11 TDs on 163 carries. He's solid in pass-pro and utilizes his speed, twitch, and power to make plays with the ball. In line to take over at QB is senior [player_tooltip player_id='817779' first='Philip' last='Jacobs'] who's flashed talent as a passer in limited opportunities. He'll have a talented WR combo to throw to in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='817708' first='Ben' last='Scolari'] and [player_tooltip player_id='817717' first='Domenic' last='Marconato']. Scolari, PRZ NV's #3-WR, committed to hometown Nevada in June after posting 47 catches for 1200 yards and 17 TDs as a junior. Marconato's a skilled receiver that can make plays in the screen game or vertically downfield. TE [player_tooltip player_id='817754' first='Carter' last='Eck'] is another viable receiving option and solid run blocker. PRZ NV's #3-OL in the 2024 class, [player_tooltip player_id='817712' first='Jayvn' last='Pouono'], provides the size (6'4”/315) and physicality for the OL group. Fellow senior Hayden Bacci is a returning starter at OG. Among the underclassmen, junior standouts C [player_tooltip player_id='820690' first='Matthew' last='Harrington'] and OT [player_tooltip player_id='820609' first='Jackson' last='Ramsey'] are returning starters and 2026 OL Max Zuro just picked up his first offer from Nevada in May.

Defense

DE [player_tooltip player_id='811150' first='Salesi' last='Manu'] is one of the top overall prospects in the state holding 8 D-I offers from ASU, Cal, Washington St., SDSU, Nevada, UNLV, and others. Manu's a violent and disruptive defender that totaled 7 sacks and 18 TFLs as a junior. He's explosive getting into the backfield and plays with leverage, technique, and instincts at the POA. Senior LB [player_tooltip player_id='817711' first='Marrio' last='Williams Jr.'] led the team in tackles last season with 90 total, 14 TFLs, and 4 sacks. He's a sideline-to-sideline tackler with motor to the football and power in the punch- he just picked up an offer from D-III Pacific with other interest from Nevada and Washington St. Other front-seven defenders to watch include LB Giovanni Granata (Sr.) and DL [player_tooltip player_id='820637' first='Cian' last='Stack'] (Jr.) Senior DBs [player_tooltip player_id='819536' first='Jadyn' last='Buckner'] and Tony Caramella bring veteran skill and experience to the secondary. Junior CB Pele Masina is a young talent that showed ability to make plays in both man and zone last season.
