Gilmartin shows a good blend of speed and bend to get around offensive tackles. He also shows strength in the upper body and he combines it with good leverage and explosion to shed blockers. His leverage and strength at the point of attack allow him to keep offensive lineman under control where he can read the play is going and then get off the block and make a tackle. Gilmartin has impressive weight room stats as well. He can bench press 385 lbs & squat 540 lbs.
Colin Charles Colin Charles 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Northville | 2025 State – WR- 2025- Hudl
Charles is good after the catch and has a natural feel of how to make defenders miss in the open field. He has good acceleration and Northville does a good job of getting him the ball on end-arounds. He shows the ability to make blocks in the open field. I like that Charles immediately turns up field after securing the catch. He is a good all around skill set and will be a key difference maker for this Northville offense once again in 2023.
Drew Rankin Drew Rankin 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Northville | 2025 State – RB/DB- 2025- Hudl
Rankin shows the ability to play fast and quickly read plays. Rankin shows the ability to make plays on the football. He has good change of direction and it allows him to work back to the receiver and knock the ball loose. Rankin shows good play strength and the ability to get off blocks and make tackles. He is a very sure tackler and does a good job of taking proper angles to ball carriers. Rankin plays a lot of zone coverage and does really excels in it. I like his play a lot and you see a ton of passion in his game.
Sonny Rentz- DB/WR- 2024- Hudl
Rentz is a good open field tackler who wraps up well. Rentz does a good job on kick return for Northville. They use him as one up the guys just before the deepest returners. There were several times the ball was kicked off a bit short and Rentz fielded the ball and picked up solid yardage for his team.
Hudson Boots- RB/DB- 2025- Hudl
Boots is a talented player who will make the jump for JV to Varsity this year. He shows good ball skills at defensive back and does a good job of staying deep and then coming up to get the ball. I like his ability to read run plays quickly. He will fly up at good angles to make physical tackles. I like watching Boots drop back into coverage. He looks very confident and he really made an impact for his team coming down with multiple interceptions on the season. Boots has fluid hips and solid change of direction and it really helps him to get into positions to make plays. You can tell by his highlights that he really enjoyed dropping back into coverage, reading quarterbacks and making plays on the ball. Boots is a good football player who should secure a starting position in the secondary for the varsity this season.
