We are a few days away from the season starting. However, the recruiting news has not slowed down one bit over the summer. It was a week where we witnessed several commitments take place. Meanwhile, we still had plenty of scholarship offers extended this week as well. Let's catch up on a busy week of recruiting headlines.   [player_tooltip player_id='408032' first='Caden' last='Durham']-Duncanville-Running Back-2024   The Duncanville running back rushed for 1,960 yards last season. Durham has tremendous speed and is a running back that is tough to bring down on initial contact. Duncanville is a talented team that is capable of winding up in Arlington again this season. Earlier in the week, Durham committed to the Bayou Bengals of LSU. Look for Durham to have a big season this season. He will give LSU a running back that can break a run into the secondary on every carry.   [player_tooltip player_id='920599' first='Kiotti' last='Armstrong']-Jasper-Athlete-2025   [player_tooltip player_id='920599' first='Kiotti' last='Armstrong'] is a dynamic athlete out of Jasper. Armstrong has great speed, and he puts on display at both the tight end and linebacker positions. He has tremendous athleticism and will be a difficult player to account for on the field. Earlier in the week, Armstrong earned a scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas. He is a prospect to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.   Kory Boyd-Wylie East-Defensive Back-2024   Kory Boyd has impressive speed in the secondary. He has the speed to stick with opposing wide receivers. Boyd plays the ball well in the air and makes opposing receivers work for the football. Earlier in the week, the Wylie East defensive back picked up a scholarship offer from the Montana Grizzlies. He is a prospect that has the potential for a big season this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='270019' first='Colin' last='Simmons']-Duncanville-Defensive Line-2024   One of the most dominate defensive lineman in the country. [player_tooltip player_id='270019' first='Colin' last='Simmons'] is a force on the defensive line. He disrupts both the rushing and passing attacks of the opponents. Earlier in the week, Simmons placed his commitment with the Texas Longhorns. Simmons just adds to what is an excellent class for the Longhorns this season. Look for Simmons to have another strong season this season with Duncanville.   [player_tooltip player_id='688696' first='Maliek' last='Hawkins']-Frisco Emerson-Defensive Back-2025   [player_tooltip player_id='688696' first='Maliek' last='Hawkins'] does not shy away from contact. He is not afraid to deliver a punishing hit to an opposing wide receivers. The Emerson defensive back has the speed to cause problems for opposing wide receivers and quarterbacks. Hawkins earned a scholarship offer from the Indiana Hoosiers earlier in the week. He is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season. Hawkins has the potential to rack up the scholarship offers this season.
