The UNLV commit was a force in the middle putting a beating on anyone with the ball in their hands who came his way, as well as putting pressure on the quarterback. Melvin, who has looked like a college senior physically since he was a freshman, stepped up and had 8 tackles and a sack on the night, but alters opponents play with his tenacity and physicality he brings to the game. He looks even faster and more powerful to start his senior season.

Ross was a blur off the edge at times using his speed to collect 3 sacks on the night. Ross isn’t the most skilled technically off the edge yet, but his speed, quick first step and overall athleticism makes him hard to stop just off of his natural ability. Once he learns to fully harness his physical gifts he’s been blessed with, he has the potential to be a terror on the college level and beyond.

Not only does he deserve a mention on the offensive side, but Jacorey was also impressive on the defensive side as well playing safety. Love’s speed allows him to cover a lot of ground, and his ball skills he has as an offensive player clearly helps him in coverage of receivers and backs on the defensive side of the ball. He contributed 5 tackles on the night, bit seemed to be around the ball on most plays.

The second UNLV commit who plays for the Eagles did a nice job of clogging the middle and making yards on the ground difficult to come by for the Broncos. Darius moves very well for a man his size and is surprisingly quick and agile to go along with strong. He requires multiple blockers on each play and gets good push into the backfield most of the time.

An Oklahoma commit, Moore was a force in the middle of the Broncos defense, where he displayed improved quickness and speed, along with lowering the boom on ballcarriers with some big hits while showing a great motor, being disruptive in the backfield and recording a sack. Ka’Mori lost 25 pounds in the offseason and is shows in his get off and explosiveness the snap. He has worked hard in the offseason and is a lean muscled 6’2″ 288 for this season.

The recent Missouri commit Big Will recorded his first sack of the season early in the game and continued to put pressure and disrupt the rest of the way using his 6’5″ 265 frame to do so. You could tell Nwaneri has also spent some quality time in the weight room this offseason. He’s gotten bigger while keeping his quickness and ability to use his length and reach to his advantage on the edge. The elite caliber recruit did a nice job playing against the run in helping to shut it down.

The transfer from Park Hill South had an impressive debut for the Broncos in locking down their big time receivers with his physical play and tight coverage. Lane was aggressive and fired up to prove himself against name competition and he did using his athletic ability and skills to do so, showing great timing, ball skills, speed and hips in his ability to turn and blanket receivers at 6’1″ 175. He is definitely a player colleges will be taking a closer look at.

Another big-time defender and D1 prospect who stood out for the Broncos with his his ability to run and lay big hits on offensive players, Pearsall showed up in a big way against the run, but also has the speed and ability to get the job done in pass coverage. At 6’1′ 225 he has proto-type college linebacker size.
