Below are a few players from each side to keep an eye on during the big game. Some honorable mention prospects are recent transfer Damon Ferguson, Monte Royster and Amori Hills.
Purdie led the Millers to the promise land in 2022 with a 2,000+ yard season. The biggest question for the passing game is will he be able to repeat that with a new receiving core. The Milford hopeful expect big things out of Purdie; this matchup should show us how he plays under pressure off the bat against a talented Oakdale team who can score in a flash.
Highlights
Redd is a player who’s been waiting his tuo be let loose. With his transfer from Calvert Hall to the Baltimore County power Milford, he should be in the perfect position to put his value on display. I’ve had the opportunity to watch Redd play a lot during the past few off seasons and he continues to impress and improve. He’s a quick and shifty receiver who is always hungry to make a play. With a top QB throwing to him look out for Redd to have a breakout season. His route running and suddenness should catch defenses off guard as a new weapon on the Milford offense.
UNC Charolette commit, and Fredrick County offensive player of the year will be coming to town against the defending champ Milford defense. The Millers will have their hands full, Austin broke records with 1500 passing yards and 1500 rushing yards in the same season in 2022. Before last season Evan was an electrifying receiver for Oakdale and still possesses all the explosiveness, we’ll be on the edge of our seats for some big plays.
Thompson the Ohio University receiver commit played a big part in Austins 1500 passing yards. Hunter is a big bodied receiver with homerun speed. He can take a hitch route for 40+ yards or be a deep ball threat. The millers will get their fair share of Thompson, he’ll be on the field on offense, defense and returning kicks on special teams.

Pierson is a young receiver with 2 handfuls of experience who may be on the verge of a breakout season. As a sophomore he saw the field a lot during the championship run and showed that he could be a threat at every level. He’s a long strider who doesn’t waste movement in his routes. His route running is crip and strict, after the catch he gets up field and eats up yardage. I’ve seen Pierson play a lot of 7-on-7 over the past two years and he’s been on the rise since my first time evaluating him. As a veteran starter, expect Derrell to turn some heads and shock some defenses as a threat.
Sarkodie is one of the top DB’s in the class of 2025 already with multiple offers including Maryland and Penn State. He has great size, excels in coverage, and has a knack for finding the loose ball and turning it into positive yards. Koby matching up against Oakdale’s Thompson should be an entertaining battle Friday night, they are a perfect 1-on-1 match up on paper.
Oakdale has a stud at defensive end in Nichols. The 4-star prospect is verbally committed to Michigan who’s historically known for producing great front 7 talent. Nichols is bigger, stronger and faster than the majority and dominates the edge of the defense. He even plays some receiver and tight end highlighting his high level of athleticism and versatility.
