Santana Wilson Santana Wilson 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Desert Mountain | 2024 State AZ is another Arizona product from a football family. The son of Arizona Cardinals legend Adrian Wilson the Desert Mountain running back thrives in press coverage. He is physically at the line of scrimmage and can bump plays out of their stems. Regarding ball skills, Wilson does a great job finding the ball in the air. His athleticism shines with his vertical leap to high point the football. Desert Mountain also used him on offense, where he would display his speed in the running game. Wilson is heading off to Texas in 2024.
Enoch Watson Enoch Watson 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB ALA Queen Creek | 2024 State AZ dominated at Coconino High School and is going south. He becomes the quarterback for American Leadership Academy this fall after committing to BYU. Watson has a big arm that can throw from different arm platforms. When the play breakdown, he can roll out and create on the fly with being accurate on the run. He is also accurate from the pocket, with a quick, compact release. He can add to the running game and execute zone-read run plays consistently. As a runner, he is tough, looking to punish defenders and force them to bring him down. Watson will be a great addition to BYU in 2024.
Dylan Tapley Dylan Tapley 6’4″ | 205 lbs | ATH Desert Mountain | 2024 State AZ is headed to Arizona State as an athlete as he excels at two positions. He is hard to stop when he is lined up wide being shifty as a route runner. His hands are his best asset while using his big body to bring in 50/50 receptions, becoming a red zone threat. Tapley is also a deep threat, excelling with crossers and seam routes in the slot. On the defensive side of the ball, his hands and ball skills lead to 8 interceptions on the season. Tapley has the instincts and range you love, from free safety to making plays while the ball is in the air. He can come downhill in the run game and make tackles on ball carriers. ASU will decide where Tapley plays, but he should excel either way.
Highlights
Brandon Phelps Brandon Phelps 6’3″ | 195 lbs | WR American Leadership Academy – Gilbert North | 2024 State AZ is a matchup problem for any cornerback he faces. A contested catch and 50/50 ball specialist Phelps’s athleticism shines when the ball is in the air. He has excellent hands and knows exactly when to high-point the football with a good vertical leap. A technical runner Phelps uses his athleticism to quickly get in and out of breaks. Double moves are his specialty selling the original route to create separation deep. He can create short receptions into big plays when the ball is in his hands. His shiftiness as a route runner shows up in the open field, making him a home run hitter. Wilson vs. Phelps will be a classic matchup to watch.
Dillon Hipp Dillon Hipp 6’5″ | 240 lbs | TE Desert Mountain | 2024 State AZ is playing, undecided about his future, but looking for a strong season. The Desert Mountain tight end has the mentality of an offensive lineman when blocking. He has plenty of pancakes on film where he punishes players after the play. In the passing game, he is a good route runner showing good movement for his size. He displays the speed to stretch the field and force missed tackles in the open field. It makes him valuable on quick dump-offs, working play action where he can quickly get the football upfield. Hipp helps complete the stacked Desert Mountain offense with a chance to win it all in their division.
