After an exciting season of high school football action in the Volunteer State, it's time to look back at some of the most impressive and outstanding players from around the state that are preparing to return to the field to lock in for their senior campaign this upcoming fall. After breaking down some impressive linebacker prospects, it's time to continue our evaluation of the defense. Here's my list of the top defensive linemen prospects in the state of Tennessee to watch out on the field this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='149168' first='Hank' last='Weber'], a 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive lineman at Brentwood Academy. Weber was one of the most significant defensive playmakers on the Eagles' roster during his junior stint of high school football last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and explosiveness off the snap, what stands out about Weber is his physical playstyle, well-balanced movement, footwork and his ability to almost instantly apply heavy defensive pressure on the quarterback. The rising senior out of Brentwood, TN. also caught my attention with his outstanding strength and toughness against the offensive line, showcasing his ability to blast past the offense to make stops. After a successful year on the field, Weber is definitely worth keeping an eye on next season as he's committed to the University of Wisconsin.

Tape:

Claiming the second place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='332296' first='Dion' last='Stutts'], a 6-foot-3 defensive lineman at Memphis University (MUS). Stutts was a highly impactful defensive weapon during his junior season with the Owls last year. With explosive size and speed, Stutts showcased excellent strength and durability off the snap, utlizing his toughness and footwork to muscle his way past the offense and apply pressure. Another aspect of Stutts that stands out his ability to read the offense, slowing his game down until the perfect time to pounce.

Tape:

Finishing in the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='301377' first='C.J.' last='Smith'], a 6-foot-3 defensive lineman at Knoxville West High School. Smith was one of the most efficient and explosive defensive talents on the Rebels' roster during his junior stint of high school football last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and physicality, what stands out about Smith is his ability to bully the offensive line, using his arm strength and footwork to maneuver the offense and get to the quarterback for the sack. The rising senior out of Knoxville, TN. additionally caught my eye with his execution and ability to use bursts of speed to quickly catch offensive playmakers off guard. After an outstanding year on the field, Smith is without question an intriguing defensive lineman to watch for.

Tape:

In the number four spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='345970' first='Glenn' last='Seabrooks'], a 6-foot-3 defensive lineman at Davidson Academy. Seabrooks was one of the more efficient defensive standouts on the Bears' roster during his junior season of high school football last year. With outstanding size, speed and solid execution off the snap, Seabrooks managed to consistently contain offensive playmakers, utilizing his physicality, solid footwork and arm strength to bully the offensive line and add heavy defensive pressure on the quarterback. The rising senior out of Nashville, TN. additionally impressed with his ability to quickly pounce on the offense despite a multitude of resistance. After a strong showcase of talent last year, Seabrooks is definitely worth watching for as he's committed to Vanderbilt University.

Tape:

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='258818' first='Daniel' last='Anderson'], a 6-foot-2 defensive lineman at Germantown High School. Anderson was a highly explosive defensive talent on the Red Devils' roster during his junior stint of high school football last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and physicality, what stands out about Anderson is his defensive toughness and ability to dig deep when he drags players to the ground. The rising senior out of Germantown, TN. additionally caught my attention with his footwork and ability to quickly overwhelm the offensive line and get to the quarterback. After proving himself as a top defensive weapon last year, Anderson is definitely a high-level defensive lineman in the state to keep an eye on next season.

Tape:
