As players wrap up their 7v7 seasons and wrap up attending camps and showcases, I wanted to take a look into each class within the state and see which teams that you need to keep an eye on as the season goes along. This is just a couple teams listed, there will be more who will be at the top of the class.

Lynden HS - Last Season: 13-0 - 2A STATE CHAMPION

Lynden is a football powerhouse in the state of Washington and they have been for a very, very long time. They are an extremely disciplined team due to their fantastic coaching staff. The Lions did lose a number of role players, but won't have trouble finding players to take on bigger roles. They will once again compete for a 2A state championship, especially with [player_tooltip player_id='945865' first='Brant' last='Heppner'] ('25 QB), Cooper Moore ('24 WR/DB), [player_tooltip player_id='945877' first='Isaiah' last='Oudman'] ('25 TE/LB), and Kuyper Assink ('25 OL/DL) all returning.

North Kitsap HS - Last Season: 12-2

The Vikings had a very, very good season last year. They lost in the 2A state championship game to Lynden by a score of 24-31. They also lost a tight game in week 2 to Tumwater by a score of 6-8. They also have some key role players who graduated but with so much talent all around still, they will compete with the top teams. [player_tooltip player_id='338800' first='Logan' last='Sloman'] ('24 WR) will be back after arguing being the best player on the team last year. [player_tooltip player_id='338809' first='Ethan' last='Guerra'] ('24 WR), [player_tooltip player_id='1108345' first='EJ' last='Vailolo'] ('24 OL/DL), Nate Thornton ('25 OL/DL) will also be some players to watch on this North Kitsap squad.

Enumclaw HS - Last Season: 12-1

The Hornets were a dominate team all season long with their only loss coming in the semi-finals of the state tournament, losing to eventual champion Lynden by a score of 14-41. The athletes coming back from last years team are HUNGRY to get back to that state tournament and I think they have a great chance to make that happen. [player_tooltip player_id='158343' first='Gunnar' last='Trachte'] ('24 QB) is a big time leader who is going to have a very solid senior season. [player_tooltip player_id='414282' first='Ryan' last='Fehr'] ('24 OL/DL) will be back to help anchor the lines on both sides of the ball. Fernando Reyes JR ('25 DL/OL) had a very big sophomore year, improving each week, he is definitely a player who coaches need to keep an eye on. [player_tooltip player_id='693761' first='Louis' last='Chevalier'] ('25 RB) and [player_tooltip player_id='693843' first='Seamus' last='Twohey'] ('25 RB) are also returning to help with the workload out of the backfield.

Anacortes HS - Last Season: 9-2

Anacortes surprised quite a few people last year when they started to win games by a large amount, especially when not many people expected them to be a top team even in the NWC. The Seahawks' one loss before the state tournament was to Lynden. They lost in the 2nd round of the state tournament by a score of 7-10 to North Kitsap. With many key playmakers returning, Anacortes will again compete with the best in the 2A class. [player_tooltip player_id='643392' first='Rex' last='Larson'] ('24 QB) is back to lead his team once again. He will have [player_tooltip player_id='449558' first='Landon' last='Schafer'] ('24 WR/DB), [player_tooltip player_id='205682' first='Brock' last='Beaner'], ('25 ATH), and [player_tooltip player_id='693730' first='Brady' last='Beaner'] ('25 ATH) as his playmakers and all 3 will contribute in big ways.

Washougal HS - Last Season: 9-2

The Panthers had a great season last year, playing in a few close games. They have a very high powered offense, scoring 30-40 almost every game. They lost a week 2 game to Toppenish, then didn't lose a game until the first round of the state tournament where Highline beat them 27-30. [player_tooltip player_id='158389' first='Holden' last='Bea'] ('24 QB), who just committed to University of Idaho, will be back again to try to lead the Panthers to the promise land. [player_tooltip player_id='643393' first='Sam' last='Evers'] ('24 WR), [player_tooltip player_id='338853' first='Jose' last='Cruz'] ('24 OL), [player_tooltip player_id='693771' first='Jacob' last='Zipperlan'] ('25 OL), and [player_tooltip player_id='693822' first='Sam' last='McKee'] ('25 DL) will all be back as well and should contribute in big ways.
