John Perry
John Perry
John Perry has the size you can’t teach while being a student of the game to improve his play every time he laces his cleats up. At 6-foot-5, Perry has the big arm you would expect to see from a quarterback, but more importantly he has touch on his first and second level throws to keep the chains moving and his offense in rhythm. Is an accurate thrower on the run, particularly on roll outs, by being able to use arm strength to deliver clean passes to open receivers. Throws well when scrambling with that arm strength to turn nothing into something. When he has the time to plant his feet and deliver a clean ball out of the pocket, Perry has the velocity and accuracy to fit the ball into tight windows. Has above average pocket awareness to to avoid defenders and keeps his head balanced looking for an open man. Is more than athletic enough to bring down the ball and pickup chunk yardage with his feet. Perry has been seeing a quarterback coach this offseason which has helped tighten up his delivery. He has made it to a number of camps and college visits which has earned him an offer to play at Baldwin-Wallace as well as upping his stock for his senior year.

Khylan Osbey
Khylan Osbey
Khylan Osbey has all the tools to be the next big running back in Northeast Ohio as a complete three-down back. Osbey has the speed, balance, vision and acceleration to make him dangerous anytime the ball is in his hands. Anticipates very well, beyond his years, to see movement in the second level and beyond to make big plays on a regular basis. Hits holes hard to break arm tackles on a regular basis. Power cuts are explosive to avoid hits and has the balance to maintain his strength under him. Is a good runner at top speed to weave through traffic to gain yardage where other backs might falter. Has the power in short yardage situations to chew up defenders while pushing towards the yardage he needs. His high end speed is hard to catch once he finds daylight, stays mindful of defenders in his wake to make sure he finishes off plays. Osbey has gained attention of several MAC schools and even Big Ten with visits to Miami of Ohio, Kent State and Wisconsin. With his balanced game, Osbey has a very high ceiling headed into his junior year with more carries expected. Osbey has the potential to be in the conversation for several state awards.

Jamar Bryant
Jamar Bryant
The key to Jamar Bryant’s success as a right tackle is an understanding of his assignment pre-snap to position himself quickly and gain the upper hand. Bryant has even faster hands to instigate contact before his man can read where the play is headed. Delivers a lot of power from his arms to upend players or keep them away from his ball carrier’s running lane. He has a natural open stance to have advance control of a defender when moving side to side. Sound footwork to maintain proper form in pass pro. Has good strength to handle bull rush attempts, absorbs the contact well while maintaining a low stance to give his quarterback more than enough time to get a pass off. Shows good ability to pull and keep his body centered to deliver clean blocks. Is a more athletic right tackle than most to block well in the second level. As a major contributor on varsity in his sophomore season, Bryant has as much upside as you will find in a lineman. While he works very well as a high school right tackle, at 6-foot-3 with speed will have versatility options as he continues. A must watch player in the fall.

Ben Farson
Ben Farson
Few running backs can get as much out of a carry as Ben Farson does on a regular basis. A ball carrier with next level vision, Farson is a reliable back that can find cracks in the defense better than most. He uses his compact size to elude defenders with hard cuts. Is able to dip his head low to make defenders miss and has the balance to move forward for positive yardage. Has good burst to hit the edge hard and make linebackers pay that can’t keep up. Is a reliable target in the passing game beyond screens and short passes. Is a good route runner that can find open space to allow for more yards after the catch. Runs very well out of motion to allow him to get up to speed quicker for plays off tackle. Takes contact well to get extra yardage after being hit. With his speed, he has good strength in the shoulders and arms to break off tackles. Farson is a reliable back from the option offense with subtle hand movements to conceal who is coming out of the backfield with the ball. Picked up his first offer to Wittenberg in May, Farson is a player that should pick up even more offers in his senior year with more opportunities to carry the ball.
