This list although not the longest when it comes to numbers has plenty of upside, and if I was a coach looking for a handful of Saturday’s talent, I would certainly grab a look at our Part III list of standouts. We even have some Prep Redzone NEXT talent on this list.
Thomas was a defensive line prospect at the Augustana prospect camp that showed off a sizable motor in the reps I caught out of him in the later session. I liked watching the softness he showed off with his hands and I certainly believe there is a development curve for more instinct in his hand technique for sure from what I saw at Augie. He also showed plenty of fluidity that showed off that skillset purely from what I saw out his reps as a prospect that works his tail off to get from point A to point B. Thomas certainly has Saturday football in his future as a 6’1 235 pound defensive linemen way under the radar.
Carson popped out to these eyes as an OL prospect with a high ceiling as he showed out as a 2025 prospect that made some noise at the Augustana Prospect Camp. For his size, he showed off an agile presence in the early reps that I caught and was one that showed off an excellent pad-level in the later reps from the Vikings prospect camp. Carson has some development as far as his leverage goes against stronger competition however as a pulling-guard on tape, he certainly is one that can excel on second level by giving his ball carrier extra yards in a pinch when needed with his downhill athletic mobility at 6’1 235 pounds. He was a prospect at the Augustana prospect camp that learned plenty o technique and had a quick learning curve with those skillsets he was given. In our 2025 South Dakota class, Carson is certainly a stockriser in my eyes. as one of the states best interior offensive linemen.
Camron is one of our top South Dakota 2024 linebackers, however, I wish I would have watched more out of him at the Augustana prospect camp a couple Mondays ago. He certainly impressed me most with his vision from the reps I caught, as a linebacker that regardless in run or pass coverage passed the eye test quickly with his instincts, not just for me but the Augustana coaches at the end of the day as he walked out of Augustana with his first offer a couple of Mondays ago. On tape, Camron plays with consistency from what I saw at Augustana, as a slightly undersized linebacker that plays with excellent vision that reacts quickly to the ball carrier in mind.
Porter Gregg
Porter Gregg
Although he was the youngest prospect on my radar, the impression that 2027 Herreid-Selby defensive back Porter Gregg left on me at the Augustana Prospect Camp showed off some significant upside for his age. He came off much more agile than I expected and for his age, showed off impressive and more developed footwork for the defensive back position with plenty of room to grow up his skillsets in that regard. Porter also impressed me with his physicality from the point of attack as although he shows some raw traits, he certainly has significant football IQ yet to be shown off. Porter is an ATH prospect I certainly feel could take off in the coming several years.
