Well today, we’re looking at 2026 prospects that saw varsity action last fall and could make waves this season. None of these prospects have received a scholarship offer just yet. I do believe however, some of these names could gain some serious steam on the recruiting trail with a big sophomore campaign.

WR: Drew Watson, Macomb
A wizard after the catch with excellent body control and impressive speed. Drew accelerates through arm tackles, and his change of direction makes defenders look silly in space. His acceleration and ability to navigate through tight quarters is unique for someone his age. Look for a big jump in production in 2023.
NICKEL: Malik Mazyun, Cahokia
Mayzun has a feisty on-field playing style and can wreak havoc as a pass rusher off the edge. He’s not afraid to stick his nose inside the tackle box, he uses his god-given quickness to defeat blocks at the point of attack and he’s got an almost instinctive trigger once he reads run. Don’t let his size fool you, this kid is tough as nails and will make a major impact for Cahokia.
RB: Drew Kegebein, Aurora Christian
A north and south runner that looks to run through you and not around you. Drew is a slasher who can not only run between the tackles but also catch the football out of the backfield. He’s a throwback type of ball player that just so happens to also be a very talented long-snapper as well.
WR: Dylan Reyes Dylan Reyes 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR Geneva | 2026 State IL Geneva
Reyes is a highly skilled route runner for someone only going into his second season of high school ball. He fights through 2nd level reroutes, he shows quick hands and elite concentration. Reyes knows how to find the soft spots in zone coverage and is confident going over the middle of the field. He and Talyn Taylor Talyn Taylor 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Geneva | 2025 State IL will make a dynamic one-two punch for the Vikings this fall.
EDGE: Lamari Hall, Aurora Christian
Hall has a projectable frame for an edge and had steady production in 2022 finishing with 32 tackles along with 9.5 TFLs. He’s got a lightning-quick first step and his change of direction gives grabby pass setting tackles problems. He shows compact hands and a consistently low pad level at the point of attack.
