Coaches looking for 2025 QBs in St. Louis will have to make their way outside of the city to find some of Missouri’s best prospects. Below, I detail why these specific quarterbacks are set to be some of the best junior passers in the state.
Mikey Gerdine
Mikey Gerdine
Mikey Gerdine is a rising quarterback out of St. Charles, Missouri. Mikey had some big-time performances as a sophomore, so I am surprised to see him not receive more attention from schools in the region. Watch for Mikey’s recruitment to pick up after taking the field this fall.
Mikey’s next level anticipation shows consistently leading receivers through defenders’ zones on both short and intermediate throws. Good accuracy gets displayed on Mikey’s touch deep and well-placed strikes that lead receivers when he is forced to throw without setting his feet on the run. Good mobility shows creating chunk plays from scrambles that start over five yards behind the line of scrimmage. Mikey has next level athleticism, but coaches like the poise and decision-making displayed when he is forced out of pocket and keeps his eyes downfield to create with his arm instead of legs.
Preston Brown Preston Brown 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Hillsboro | 2025 State MO is the leader of a talented offense out of Hillsboro High School. Preston has been competing at camps all summer and recently competed at Southern Illinois and Arkansas State. Watch for Preston’s first offer to come in before his senior year gets here.
Preston’s accuracy gets displayed in the redzone when he leads receivers to the sideline for touchdowns on bootleg action passes. Preston’s next level arm strength shows increasing velocity to complete passes between tight windows over the middle. Preston flashes next level decision-making ability surveying the entire field and confidently choosing secondary options if his first read is not open.

Jack Behl Jack Behl 5’11” | 185 lbs | QB Lafayette | 2025 State MO comes off a productive sophomore year where he threw over twenty touchdowns for Lafayette High School. I am surprised the accurate passer has not received more regional recognition. Keep an eye out for Jack to start visiting schools and receiving more attention this fall.
Jack’s accuracy shows leading receivers towards the sideline in the redzone and also delivering strikes on the run in between goal line zones. Good anticipation shows consistently leading receivers vertically through deep zones. Jack’s poise shows delivering balls under pressure and calmly stepping up in the pocket when edge rushers force him to reset his feet.
Cody McMullen Cody McMullen 5’11” | 150 lbs | QB Liberty (Wentzville) | 2025 State MO is one of two talented Wentzville passers on this list. Cody has received an opportunity to play at Millikin University and went to a camp at Missouri Baptist just this week. Expect the good-sized quarterback’s recruitment to heat up this fall.
Cody’s poise gets displayed evading pressure then resetting his feet before delivering the ball to receivers downfield. Next level arm strength gets displayed delivering well-placed deep outs while on the run. Coaches like seeing Cody’s combination of size, strength, and mobility that shows shaking or powering through pass rushers in the pocket. However, extend ability gets displayed when Cody uses his extend ability to evade pressure, then utilizes his eyes and arm to create when forced off script.

Hoyt Gregory Hoyt Gregory 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB North Point | 2025 State MO is one of Missouri’s best unknown signal callers. Hoyt received his first offer from Florida Atlantic University in June. The talented North Point prospect is set to shoot up Midwest recruiting boards this fall. Watch for schools inside and surrounding Missouri start to offer Hoyt before his junior season ends.
Hoyt displays next level arm strength delivering the ball into tight windows over the middle with ease. Strength, size, vision, and explosiveness highlight Hoyt’s potential to be a dual-threat quarterback in college. Hoyt’s mobility and calm demeanor shows quickly maneuvering through traffic and resetting his feet with conviction to deliver throws while still inside the pocket. Anticipation shows consistently hitting underneath routes versus zone coverage in a timely fashion. Hoyt shows flashes of rare accuracy on the run when he is forced to hit receivers in stride before they get to the sidelines.
