East Fairmont High School will have one of the top overall quarterbacks in the state this season with 2024 QB Ian Crookshanks Ian Crookshanks 6’1″ | 200 lbs | QB East Fairmont | 2024 State WV . The 6’1 200 rising senior had a very productive junior season throwing for over 1,700 yards and 23 touchdowns and leading his team to a Class AA playoff berth. Crookshanks is a true pocket passer that does most of his damage from the pocket but can scramble and run when needed. He does a nice job standing strong in the pocket and doesn’t panic when it begins to collapse. He showed really nice arm strength last season and can push the ball downfield well. Crookshanks throws a pretty ball with a tight spiral and can really put some zip on his throws. He recently picked up an offer from D2 West Virginia State and should continue to receive more throughout the summer and this season.
Highlights
Another one of the top quarterbacks in the state resides in Marion County in Fairmont Senior’s Brody Whitehair Brody Whitehair 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Fairmont Senior | 2025 State WV . The 2025 prospect is a very athletic option at QB and a true dual threat. He is equally deadly with his legs as he is with his arms and is a danger to take off running on every snap. Whitehair does a nice job beating teams over the top when they are worried about the running game and his running ability is a big reason for that. He’s the kind of athlete that can take it to the house on any given play and gives opposing coaches nightmares for how to defend against him. Whitehair is still developing as a passer but he’s more than capable in that part of the game already as a rising junior. As a sophomore, he threw for over 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns while rushing for nearly 400 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Keep an eye on this 2025 prospect for the next two years.
Dominic Fantasia
Dominic Fantasia
Going back to East Fairmont for one of our top running back prospects is 2025 RB Dominic Fantasia. Fantasia is one of the top running backs in West Virginia for the 2025 class and had a really solid sophomore campaign in 2022. He already has really good size for a rising junior at 6’1 195 and also moves very well. Fantasia averaged 6 yards per carry last year and rushed for just under 1,000 yards. If he can get a crease or get to the corner he’s a threat to take it the distance on any given carry. Fantasia has a quick burst and hits the hole with a purpose and will break arm tackles. He’s a very hard runner who is hard to bring down on first contact and will run you over if you aren’t prepared to make the tackle. When he gets a full head of steam he’s a very dangerous runner and not someone you want to collide with. Fantasia is a one-cut-and-go type of running back that likes to get downhill as soon as possible.
The future is very bright with this 2025 prospect.
