They have a lot of intriguing talent from top to bottom every year and 2023 will be no different. It was incredibly tough to choose just a handful of guys to feature this time but regardless, check out these five players who are bound to see great success this season.
Khobie Martin Khobie Martin 6’0″ | 200 lbs | RB Fishers | 2024 State IN was a dominant force coming out of the backfield for the Fishers Tigers in 2022. He found himself ending the year near the top of the conference leaderboard in multiple stats. Martin totaled 1,194 yards on the ground a season ago and tallied 16 touchdowns. The future Miami RedHawk brings a little of everything to each game. He can cut on a dime and leave defenders in the spin cycle. He can simply run over anyone in his path also. Don’t underestimate his speed, either. Martin can outrun most defenders and create distance in between on his way to the end zone. He’s an electrifying player to watch as he heads into his final season at Fishers.

Staying with the running back position, Logan Shoffner Logan Shoffner 5’7″ | 160 lbs | RB Noblesville | 2024 State IN out of Noblesville High School is another great playmaking back within the HCC. Totaling 1,414 rushing yards in 2022 and complimenting that with 9 touchdowns, Shoffner looks to repeat that performance in 2023. Despite the Millers finishing at the bottom of the conference a year ago, there is plenty of reason for optimism heading into next season. Shoffner is a dual-sport athlete with plenty of traits that could help him see continued success as he continues to develop his craft. He is incredibly quick and can leave opponents in his dust in a hurry. He can get it done on the ground and has shown glimpses of a solid pass-catching ability, as well as quality kick return performances. It’ll be interesting to see how Noblesville can improve from last season and I foresee Shoffner to be a key factor in their gameplan.

Mason Riggins Mason Riggins 6’6″ | 230 lbs | TE Zionsville | 2024 State IN is such an intriguing prospect heading into his senior season. He currently holds ten Division 1 offers and it would be wise to assume more are coming his way. Riggins is an absolutely massive tight end. Standing at 6’6″, he towers over nearly every defender that covers him. Don’t assume he can only perform because he’s tall. Riggins is a sound receiver with good hands and ability to catch in traffic. He’s a lot quicker than you would expect, too. Overall, he’s a physically imposing receiver with his best football ahead of him. Be on the lookout for him to continue to excel throughout the 2023 season.

There’s so much to like here with Cameron Gorin Cameron Gorin 6’5″ | 260 lbs | OL Hamilton Southeastern | 2025 State IN . He stands 6’5″ and can physically dominate nearly anyone who lines up against him. But obviously, size isn’t the only positive aspect of his game. In pass protection, Gorin does a nice job remaining balanced and keep the defender in front of him. He has the length to keep opposing edge rushers from getting outside of him. As for run blocking, he displays tenacity on every play and looks to completely flatten anyone in his path. Gorin is so fun to watch and it will be interesting to see how he continues to develop. Keep an eye on him.

It’s really hard to tell if there was a play that Carson Foxen Carson Foxen 5’10” | 210 lbs | LB Avon | 2024 State IN was not involved in a season. He tallied 144 total tackles, which equates to about 13 per game, and added on 13 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Foxen flies all over the field and has a nose for the ball. He does a good job keeping his eyes in the backfield and taking a direct path to the ball carrier. When engaged, he can quickly shed the block and make a play. He’s not afraid to step up and meet the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage. Foxen is simply a gritty and athletic football player, making contributions in both run defense and pass coverage. Watch for him to make noise for the Avon Orioles in 2023.
