I hope so, because this is certainly one of the most impressive lists of prospects we covered from Brookings last Thursday. In Part III, we heavily focus on prospects from all over the Midwest from Minnesota to as far South as Missouri around the Kansas City area. This list has plenty of excellent running backs, feisty defensive backs and much more.
Ryver was the first running back to pop out to me at the South Dakota State prospect camp and it seems like the Jackrabbits saw what I saw too on Thursday. This young man had some of the most athletic feet I watched amongst the running back group at SDSU. He showed a very significant twitch when I watched Ryver change of directions as the word fluid would be an understatement as a word I commonly use. The first step watching this young man showed off plenty of electricity from my eyes, as Ryver was also extremely instinctive with his footwork I caught in the early reps. His tape shows a ton of shock value early as a running back prospect that tests the defense to catch right at the tip of the first level as has such bolting agility to set the tone for the rest of his runs which remains consistent on tape. The Jackrabbits jumped early on this 2025 RB prospect out of Missouri, and certainly won’t be the last Division I school to get this kid on his radar, as his recruitment I see is about to blow up.
Highlights
Colton is a running back prospect I recall from scouting our Prep Redzone Wisconsin Showcase a couple years back and one that has continued to rise his skillsets highly watching him nearly two years later. Colton showed off some ingrained footwork at the South Dakota State prospect camp that also carried excellent balance in the reps I watched out of him. He also showed off a prospect that is a certified-gamer, as he showed off that he was always looking for more in the reps I caught to get the college coaches attention with the amount of reps he put in the drills I got to watch in Brookings. This young man has continued to grow his chiseled lower body that shows off plenty of durability in my eyes for yards after contact. His tape shows off elite vision that also carries well-groomed instincts with his fluid change of direction. Colton shows off that durable gene I expected to see on his second clip as he gets out of a high-traffic area with smooth persistence. I certainly see Division I college football in Colton’s future as he has a couple FCS offers already, but I think this young man is about spring upwards after the Jackrabbits camp with his recruitment.
Brock was a 2024 Nebraska prospect that from the first look of watching him, certainly impressed me with his skillsets. He impressed me most with the balance he showed off in the reps I caught at South Dakota State, no matter what drill he was dove into with his 6’1 255 pound frame. I also was intrigued with this young man’s first step in the reps I watched as they showed superb vision with his dexterity he showed off with his length. Brock on tape possesses a great football IQ, as he has a steady knack to getting to where the ball is going which makes sense, as this young man carries a highly academic 31 ACT off the football field. With Brock, based on what I see on tape I can see even more growth with that first step I got to watch and also grow his technique with his hands getting thru the beef of the defensive line. He has seen his recruitment take off since South Dakota State’s prospect camp, with three NAIA offers from Midwest programs and is destine for more this summer in my eyes.

Jhett is one of the first prospects I have scouted out of Wagner (SD) since the launch of the Dakotas site in 2020, as this kid although not near the biggest running back in the building, caught my eyes. I liked what I saw out of Jhett’s solid balance with watching him go thru Indy drills. He also showed off good instincts within his first step with the football in his hands. Although he doesn’t have any tape available, this kid’s wrestling background interests me as he shows off an athlete that could be a small school hidden gem at the NAIA or Division III level on Saturdays. He will need to get his tape up soon and during his senior season to entice more looks from college programs in my eyes.
Kade is a prospect I recall evaluating during the last couple Level Up 7v7 tryouts down in Iowa and is one that continued to rise in my eyes from his performance at the South Dakota State prospect camp. What stuck out for me with Kade during this camp was how much fluidity he has grown into with his agility with his change of direction as he impressed me in a handful of drills with this skillset alone. A first team all-district running back as a junior for Martensdale St. Mary’s, Kade’s tape fires out of cannon upon receiving the football showing off his burst very early on tape. I also have spoken in the past how I like Kade’s vision and that was evident from watching him at South Dakota State last Thursday. Kade so far as two offers from the NAIA level, and I certainly see his recruitment growing from what I saw in Brookings.
Brandon Brigham
Brandon Brigham
A 2024 Illinois prospect that impressed me at South Dakota State was Homewood-Flossmoor running back Brandon Brigham. I loved what I saw out of Brandon out of the figure eight drill, as this young man turned his corners with really solid balance and as well as great attention to detail as he got around the corners with great placement with his footwork firing his feet right on edge of the ropes and also showed off an excellent burst with his finish. When watching his junior tape, you can evaluate quickly how much this young man has developed since his fall season. Like I saw at SDSU, Brandon has trended upwards with his balance with his footwork and has showed off looser hips with his change of direction that I watched in Brookings. From what I saw from fall to now, I would be willing to bet this young man has plenty of potential left to show and is one that doesn’t have an offer yet but college coaches that have watched those gains since 2022 should certainly take note of this young man.
In the reps I caught from Harrison at the South Dakota State prospect camp, I loved watching this kid’s physicality he showed off in 1v1 reps. Harrison played with glue-like instincts as the wide receivers that went up against him couldn’t get an inch of space to work with as he showed off excellent ball-tracking ability rep after rep. Harrison also showed off how quick his trigger is with the release of his open hips to fire to the ball with what I watched in Indy drills as this young man can go from nowhere to somewhere a quick nick of time. His tape also shows off that quick instinct with adjusting his angle to the ball as Harrison has determined hands that had five interceptions (3rd in state) for the Rockford Rockets in 2022 and I believe he is up for an even bigger senior season. He has added an NSIC offer since the South Dakota State and received a PWO from the Gophers back in early June which to me certainly looks like this kid’s recruitment is trending upwards at the Division II and Division I FCS levels.
