Continue ReadingLooking back to this time last year, I stamped LaSalle College HS’s Michael Carroll Michael Carroll 6’6″ | 290 lbs | OL Central Bucks East | 2025 State PA as a surefire hit to be one of the best linemen representing 2025 PA prospects. Temple agreed after seeing him work last June, pulling the trigger on the young man in the form of an offer. The season came and went, yet if you are closely following Carroll’s recruiting journey, you’ll know the kid hasn’t stopped working or traveling. He and his family are doing all they can to cement the status we’ve laid out for him, the one his tape has laid out for himself. Junior days across the country, Spring Games came and went. On May 30th, after camping close to home at Rutgers, Coach Schiano and staff felt it was time to pull the trigger on Carroll, thus serving as the young man’s second offer under his belt. He’s progressing just as we expected he would. More coming.
Very happy to be writing this one. Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6’2″ | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 NewE is a name I have thrown at coaches for months, almost over a year now if I’m being honest. The exposure and ranking I provided Hampton isn’t a hand-out, his tape and work ethic speaks for itself. It was just a matter of someone seeing it. Thankfully, the floodgates have opened up for the DB. Since April 25th, Hampton has secured offers from Merrimack, Monmouth, Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Kent State, and most recently Rhode Island. I’m a firm believer that this kid is an FBS prospect, but we will be happy being in this position! I expect more MAC schools to zero in on this kid sooner rather than later. The likes of Akron and Temple should be in on the young man.
After his February de-commitment from Syracuse University, Conwell-Egan’s Samuel Cooper has been a hot commodity among FCS and even Power Five’s alike. Pitt pounced on the early opportunity back in March, visiting soon after, and now scheduling his official visit on June 22nd. I hear it’s likely the fantastic PCL ATH will commit to Pitt, a huge addition it would be to the PA Pitt class. Howard, Richmond, Towson, Akron, New Hampshire, James Madison, and UConn are also in on the top 25 prospect. He’s being courted heavily, just like he deserves to be.
Love the development and growth Cooper Lauersen Cooper Lauersen 6’5″ | 305 lbs | OL Conwell-Egan | 2024 State PA has displayed all off-season. That consistent work on his craft has the soon-to-be junior squarely on the radar of local FCS programs. Stony Brook University reached out to Cooper on May 30th with Coach Bache offering Lauersen a scholarship, acting as his first Division One offer. Very happy to see the 6’5 giant get noticed. Lauersen would be a steal for any PSAC program if he happens to land at that level. Yet we shouldn’t set the ceiling at FCS, who knows what what type of eyes this OL could impress this Off-Season?
Again, much like LaSalle’s Kelby Hampton Kelby Hampton 6’2″ | 180 lbs | DB Salisbury School | 2025 NewE , Cole Meehan Cole Meehan 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Lansdale Catholic | 2024 State PA is another prospect whose name I’ve been shouting to coaches I come across in my travels. So I’m very happy and pleased to see the wait come to an end for the Lansdale Catholic quarterback. The position is a tough one both on and off the field, as things generally come slowly in terms of recruiting interest. This was the case with Meehan, who checks off so many boxes when turning on his tape. On May 17th, Buffalo pulled the trigger on Meehan, serving as his first D1 offer. In the two weeks after Buffalo made the call, both Maine and Saint Francis followed up after seeing him work and agreed to extend offers as well. We thought Meehan might see this type of traction this time last year, no matter. The kid is finally getting attention in the form of scholarships.
Highlights
Father Judge’s standout offensive lineman drops his name into the mix. We didn’t highlight Sean Broderick’s first Division One offer back in April, an offer coming from Long Island University. The young man didn’t stop working and has a clear plan to keep eyes on him this offseason. Broderick made sure to visit Bonner-Prendie when Saint Francis came down to Philly. It’s quite evident that Broderick impressed the SFU coaching staff, as the young man came away with his second Division One scholarship offer. On June 10th, Broderick will be at Army WP, a great connection should be had there. Yale, Fordham, and LIU are coming later in the Summer.
Going to throw in a 2026 prospect into the mix! That’s currently watch-listed 6’6, 295-pound offensive tackle prospect Fawwaz Johnson out of Nuemann-Goretti. It was only a matter of time before one school saw the potential this kid has, especially being coached under the staff at NG. Limited tape, yet I imagine the freshman has come a long way from a skillset and stature perspective. On May 24th, Fawaaz Johnson Fawaaz Johnson 6’7″ | 295 lbs | OL Neumann-Goretti | 2026 State PA secured his first Division One offer from UNC Charlotte. Not many are even aware of the prospect waiting to burst onto the scene. I, however, am aware. Here’s to hoping the young man continues to impress the right eyes.
