Every year the Texas State 7v7 championships always has an impressive amount of talent and this year has not been any different. We are going to highlight some players that opened plenty of eyes during the tournament. The talent in College Station is high and the competition is intense. Here are some prospects that opened plenty of eyes in the tournament.

Dre'lon Miller-Wide Receiver-Silsbee-6'2” 185-Pounds-2024

Dre'lon Miller put on a show this week in College Station. He had the opportunity to showcase his hands and excellent speed. Miller has no problem creating separation from opposing defenders. He has the potential to have an impressive season for Silsbee. Miller has all the tools that the scouts are looking for at the wide receiver position. He is an athletic prospect that that can high point the football and is a major target in the red zone. Look for a big season from the Silsbee wide out.

[player_tooltip player_id='281657' first='Lance' last='Jackson']-Defensive Line-Pleasant Grove-6'5” 245-Pounds-2025

One of the most versatile prospects in the class of 2025 is Pleasant Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='281657' first='Lance' last='Jackson']. On the defensive side of the ball, Jackson is a dynamic edge rusher that can cause plenty of havoc in the opposing offensive backfield. Meanwhile, on the offensive side of the ball, Jackson can be an athletic weapon in the passing game. He is a difficult player to cover from the tight end position and can use his athletic ability to haul in anything thrown in his direction. With over 20 scholarship offers to his credit, he is a prospect to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='950579' first='Jett' last='Surratt']-Quarterback-Carthage-6'2” 170-Pounds-2026

Surratt has put a strong arm on display over the weekend. He makes good decisions with the football and can connect with his wide receivers in-stride. Surratt puts the ball where only his receivers can catch it. He is accurate enough to fit the football into some tight windows. Carthage looks to be in good hands with Surratt as the signal caller over the next couple of seasons. He had an impressive weekend, and he has the potential for a strong 2023 football season.

[player_tooltip player_id='265258' first='Aeryn' last='Hampton']-Wide Receiver-Daingerfield-5'10” 175-Pounds-2024

Hampton is one of the most athletic prospects at the wide receiver position in the class of 2024. He does an excellent job of using his athletic ability to high point the football. Hampton is impressive at being able to create separation from opposing defenders. The speed Hampton possesses is eye opening as well. Hampton can stretch the field vertically or be used in the slot to work the underneath routes. Either way, Hampton has the potential for an impressive season in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='920599' first='Kiotti' last='Armstrong']-Tight End-Jasper-6'6” 240-Pounds-2025

[player_tooltip player_id='920599' first='Kiotti' last='Armstrong'] is extremely versatile. He has the size and the speed to cause plenty of havoc to opposing defenses at the tight end position. Armstrong has soft hands and is able to haul in just about everything thrown in his direction. He is a tight end that runs good routes. Armstrong's athleticism is going to be a problem for opposing defenders attempting to cover him. Armstrong has the potential to play at the next level but first he is going to light up Friday nights over the next two seasons.
